Stan State Trio of Trent Lauderdale, Mila Real, and Annie Wild Looking to Become Warriors’ Next All-Americans

TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stan State men's and women's track and field student-athletes Trent Lauderdale, Mila Real, and Annie Wild will be competing in the preliminaries in their respective events at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Thursday, May 22 at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl on the campus of Colorado State Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo.  Wild will running in the 1500-meter preliminaries at 4:10 pm (PT).  Real will be competing in the women's 400-hurdles prelims at 6:40 pm (PT) and Lauderdale in the men's 400-hurdles prelims at 6:55 pm (PT). 

WILD: Annie Wild will be looking to add to her trophy case another All-American plaque.  This past March in Indianapolis, Wild captured the mile at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships with her winning time of 4:40.62.  She became the Warriors' first National Champion in the indoor mile. 

This Thursday, Wild will be looking to add another All-American trophy to resume as she will compete in the preliminaries of the women's 1500-meter run at 4:10 p.m. (PT).  She will be running in heat one of the field starting off in lane two. Wild comes into the national championships with the ninth fastest time recorded this season with a time of 4:19.67 which she ran at the Bryan Clay Invitational in April.  That time broke the Warriors' school record set in 2014 by current Stan State assistant coach Courtney Heiner with a time of 4:20.05. 

REAL:  Mila Real is looking for her first All-American honor as she will be running in the prelims this Thursday in the women's 400-hurdles.  Real will be in heat three, lane seven in the field of the 400-hurdles that will start at 6:40 p.m. (PT).  She comes into field with the 13th fastest time in the nation with a time of 59.70 that she ran at the APU Franson Last Chance Meet earlier this month.  With that time, Real broke the school record that was set in 2014 by Andrea Severson with a time of 1:00.35. 

LAUDERDALE:  Trent Lauderdale returns to Pueblo, Colo., for the second time in his career as he finished tenth at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 51.87. Lauderdale was named a 2023 USTFCCCA Second Team All-American for his performance.  The senior hurdler will be participating in the third heat, lane six this Thursday. The men's 400-hurdles is scheduled to start at 6:55 p.m. (PT).
He comes into the field running ninth fastest time with his 51.06 that he ran to capture the CCAA Title in the 400-hurdles.  Lauderdale is second in the record books at Stan State with that time in the 400-hurdles.

ADVANCING:  In the 400-hurdles, there will be two heats of seven competitors and one heat of eight competitors.  Nine, the top two from each heat plus the next best three times will qualify to the finals this Saturday, May 24 at 6:25 p.m. (women's) and 6:35 p.m. (men's) Pacific Time. 
For the 1500-meter run, there will be two heats of eleven competitors.  Twelve, the top four from each heat plus the next four best times will qualify for the finals this Saturday, May 24 at 4:35 p.m. (PT). 

RECORD BOOKS:  The trio of Trent Lauderdale, Mila Real and Annie Wild are a part of the Stan State record books in their respective events. 

Lauderdale is second in the record books at Stan State with that time in the 400-hurdles (51.06).  He is fourth in the 400-meter dash with his time of 46.53 that he ran this season.  The Fontana native is part of the school record breaking 4x100 relay team with Jaevin Sawyer, Eris Hutchins and Jaheim Williams.  The four broke the 42-year old Stan State record with a time of 40.65 that they ran at the CCAA Track & Field Championships.

Real is first at Stan State in the 400-hurdles with her time of 59.70. The Warrior sophomore is sixth in the 100-hurdles with her time of 14.84 that she ran this season.

Wild broke the Stan State record in the 1500-meter run with her time of 4:19.67.  The previous record was 4:20.05 set in 2014 by current assistant coach Courtney Heiner.  The Ripon native is fourth in the 800-meter run with her time of 2:08.76 that she ran this season.

POST SEASON HONORS:  These three have accumulated post season honors heading into the nationals.  Annie Wild earned All-Region honors in 1500-meter run.  Wild was All-CCAA in the 1500-meter run (first) and 800-meter run (second).  Mila Real was named to the All-West Region Team for her performance in the 400-hurdles.  She was All-CCAA in the 400-hurdles (second), 100-hurdles (third), and a part of the 4x400 relay team (third).  Joining her on the relay team was Reyna Dismukes, Rionna Wallace and Shaylynn Wynn

Trent Lauderdale earned All-West Region honors for his performance in the 400-hurdles.  Lauderdale was All-CCAA in the 400-hurdles (first), 4x100 relay (second) and 4x400 relay (third).  Joining Lauderdale on the 4x100 was Eris Hutchins, Jaheim Williams and Jaevin Sawyer.  Lauderdale's teammates on the 4x400 were Sawyer, Williams and Jemar Armstrong.

46/55/56:  If the trio finishes in the top eight in their respective event's finals Saturday evening, they will earn All-American honors.  If they finish ninth through twelfth, they will earn USTFCCCA All-American Second Team honors.  There has been 45 Warriors to earn All-American honors in men's outdoor track and field and 54 to be an All-American in women's outdoor track and field.  Trent Lauderdale earned All-American honors in 2023.  Najwa Chouati was an All-American in 2024 in women's outdoor track and field. Annie Wild became the Warriors' 24th All-American in women's indoor track and field this March.
