SEASIDE, Calif.---  Stan State improved to 10-5 overall and 5-0 in the CCAA with a 78-73 road conference win over Cal State Monterey Bay this afternoon at The Kelp. Bed in Seaside, Calif.  Mya Blake paced the Warriors with a season high 25 points to go with her nine rebounds, four steals, three assists and one blocked shot.  Lyric Richardson recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Jadyn Patterson chipped in 16 points for the victors.
 
FIRST QUARTER:  Jadyn Patterson's jumper at the mid-way mark of the first quarter gave the Warriors a 11-5 lead.  Cal State Monterey Bay (2-8, 0-5 CCAA) went on a 9-2 run in the next four minutes to take a 14-13 lead on a trey by Ledjan Pahukoa with 1:21 left in the quarter.  Stan State finished the quarter outscoring the Otters 4-3 to take a 18-16 lead into the second quarter. 
 
SECOND QUARTER:  Stan State took a 23-18 lead on a trey by Jadyn Patterson off a Taylor Pilot assist in the first three minutes of the quarter.  The hosts cut the Warrior lead to 23-22, but the Warriors increased their lead to 28-22 on a Pilot jumper.  CSUMB's Sarah Shaw free throws made it 30-26 Warriors with 2:04 left in the half.  Stan State outscored its hosts 8-2 in the final two minutes of the half to take a 38-28 lead into the second half.
 
THIRD QUARTER:  Mya Blake's jumper capped a 13-2 run to begin the second half to increase Stan State's lead to 51-30.  A trey by Abbey Hadsell cut the Otter deficit to 59-49 with a little under a minute left in the quarter.  An old-fashioned three-point play by Kiki Roberts cut the Warrior lead to 59-52 heading into the final quarter. 
 
FOURTH QUARTER:  Another trey by Jadyn Patterson gave Stan State a 62-54 lead early in the fourth quarter.  CSUMB went on a 9-1 run capped by a Ledjan Pahukoa trey to cut the Warrior lead to 67-63 with a little under six minutes left in regulation.  Mya Blake's jumper capped a 5-0 run by the Warriors as they took a 72-63 lead.  The Otters would not go away as they cut the Warrior lead to an one-possession game on a Kiki Roberts' lay-up (74-71) with just 19 seconds on the clock.  Blake went four-for-four from the line to seal the 78-73 Warrior road victory.
 
5-0:  Stan State remains perfect in CCAA play with its 5-0 record.  The Warriors are the only undefeated team in CCAA play and one game ahead of Cal State San Marcos (7-3, 4-1 CCAA) in first place.  Cal Poly Pomona, Sonoma State, and Chico State are tied for third place each at 3-2. Stan State hosts Cal State San Marcos this Thursday, January 4 at 5:30pm and Sonoma State this Saturday, January 6 at 1pm.
 
SEASON HIGH:  Mya Blake scored a season high 25 points this evening to lead the Warriors.  She went six-for-14 from the field including connecting on three of her eight attempts from beyond the arc.  The junior transfer was ten-for-11 from the charity stripe.  Blake grabbed a career high nine rebounds while tying her career high with four steals in 32 minutes.  She added three assists and a blocked shot.
 
PATTERSON TYING CAREER NIGHT:  Jadyn Patterson tied her career high with 16 points this evening.  She went six-for-12 from the field including going four-for-six from three-point land.
 
13 STEALS:  Stan State recorded 13 steals this evening and forced 22 turnover by the Otters and turned them into 23 points.  Taylor Pilot and Mya Blake each had four steals while Liliana Marques had two.  Jadyn Patterson, Alexis Woodson, and Kalyn Harris each had one steal.
