TURLOCK, Calif. — Behind a double-double from Isabella Saucedo, Stanislaus State volleyball made its Fitzpatrick Arena debut a successful one Thursday night, downing Cal State Dominguez Hills 3–1 in the Warriors' California Collegiate Athletic Association and home opener. Saucedo tallied 11 kills and 11 digs to lead the Warriors, who held the Toros to a .088 hitting percentage while controlling the match on both sides of the net.
Set 1 – Stan State 25, CSUDH 19
The Warriors (3-5, 1-0 CCAA) came out sharp in the opener, using tough serving and a strong block to create separation midway through the set. Irene London and Isabella Saucedo combined for key blocks during a 4–0 run, and Fallon Freeman closed it out with a kill to give Stanislaus the early lead.
Set 2 – CSUDH 27, Stan State 25
The Toros (3-4, 0-1 CCAA) responded in the second, playing their cleanest volleyball of the night while the Warriors committed a handful of miscues. Despite multiple kills from Freeman and Saucedo to keep the set tight, CSUDH outlasted Stan State in extra points, evening the match.
Set 3 – Stan State 25, CSUDH 19
Stanislaus quickly regained momentum in the third. Christallynn Tate and Freeman led a balanced attack while the Warrior defense forced the Toros into 10 errors. A late kill by Saucedo and a service ace helped seal the set, putting Stan State back on top.
Set 4 – Stan State 25, CSUDH 18
The Warriors dominated the fourth behind strong serving, including two aces from Victoria Plumb and Lauren Gonzales, and another steady performance at the net. Tate and London combined for big blocks, and Freeman's final kill capped off the match in front of the home crowd.
