Stan State Men’s Basketball Players Participate in Read Across America
TURLOCK, Calif.--- This morning, March 4, Stan State men's basketball players Jordan Smith and Skylar Strickland read books to students at Crowell Elementary School in Turlock, Calif., as part of the nationwide program "Read Across America".
"It is always nice to connect with the community and to put a smile on these children's faces," said Smith.
Read Across America is a week-long celebration of reading that takes place every March, beginning on Dr. Seuss's birthday. The National Education Association (NEA) created the program to encourage reading in children and young adults.
