Women's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State head women's basketball coach Wayman Strickland has announced the schedule for the 2024-25 Warriors. This year's schedule will feature twenty-two California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) games, six non-conference games, and three exhibition games against NCAA Division I teams.
Stanislaus State begins with their three exhibition games, first facing UC Davis on Sunday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. in Davis, California. Later that week, the Warriors travel out of state to face University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada, on Wednesday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. To kick off November, Stan State will wrap up their exhibition games on the 4th at 11 a.m. in Stockton, Calif. against University of the Pacific.
The first season games will take place in Ellensburg, Washington for the GNCA/CCAA Crossover, hosted by Central Washington University. The Warriors will first face the hosts on November 8 at 12:20 p.m., followed by Northwest Nazarene University on November 9 with a 9 a.m. tip-off.
The Warriors return to California for one game at home on Saturday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m. versus Academy of Art University, which marks their first CCAA matchup of the season and the Warriors' home opener. From there, they travel to Fresno, Calif. to face Fresno Pacific on Wednesday, November 20 at 5:00 p.m. The team closes out November with two home games, first playing Jessup at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, then Cal State Monterey Bay on November 30 at 1:00 p.m.
December games start with a four-game road trip. Stan State travels to Southern California to play Cal State Los Angeles on their home ground on Thursday, December 5 at 5:30 p.m. Two days later, the Warriors travel to Carson for a matchup with Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, December 7 for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off. On Saturday, December 14, Stan State will journey to Seattle, Washington for a game with Seattle Pacific University at 2:00 p.m. From there, they complete their four road games playing Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, December 21 at 1:00 p.m. in Seaside, Calif.
To ring in the New Year, Stan State competes at home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, versus Cal Poly Humboldt at 5:30 p.m. The Warriors play Chico State two days later, also at the Fitzpatrick Arena, on Saturday, January 4 at 1:00 p.m.
Stan State then begins another set of four games on the road, starting with a game in San Francisco, Calif. with SF State at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9. The Warriors play another game in the Bay Area, traveling north to Hayward to face CSU East Bay on Saturday, January 11 at 5:30 p.m. Stanislaus will complete their road trip on Southern California, taking on Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday, January 16 for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off in San Bernardino. Cal Poly Pomona will be the Warriors' next opponent, playing Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. in Pomona.
For the rest of January, the Warriors remain at home for a four-game home stand, beginning with a game versus Sonoma State University on Thursday, January 23 at 5:30 p.m. On that Saturday, January 25, Stan State will face Cal State San Marcos at the Fitz, with tip-off scheduled at 1:00 p.m. On Thursday, January 30, the Warriors host Cal State East Bay at 5:30 pm. for Student Affairs night. To wrap-up the home stand, SF State visits for Golden Valley Health Center Day with a 1:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, February 1.
The following week, Stan State hits the road for two games. First, they stop in Chico, Calif. on Thursday, February 6 for a 5:30 p.m. game facing Chico State. From there, Stan State will travel to play Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, Calif., on Saturday, February 8 at 3:00 p.m.
The Warriors host two games against Southern California teams on Thursday, February 13 and Saturday, February 15. On the 13th, Cal State Dominguez Hills comes to the Fitzpatrick Arena for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off, while Cal State LA will test us on Alumni Day on the 15th at 1:00 p.m.
Once again, Stanislaus State has two road-games before hosting two games at home. Cal State San Marcos entertains the Warriors on Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m. in San Marcos, Calif. Next, Stan State travels to Rohnert Park, Calif. to play Sonoma State on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 p.m.
To cap off the season, Stan State plays Cal Poly Pomona at the Fitzpatrick Arena on Thursday, February 27 with a 5:30 tip-off. The last game of the season is versus Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, March 1 is Senior Day, and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
The 2025 six-team CCAA Women's Basketball Tournament will be hosted by Cal State San Marcos and will take place at The Sports Center in San Marcos, Calif. The tournament will run from Thursday, March 6, to Saturday, March 8.
The NCAA Division II West Regionals will be held March 14-17 at a site that will be announced. The conference tournament champions of the CCAA, GNAC, and PacWest will receive their league's automatic bids to the NCAA Regionals.
The 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championships will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from March 24-28.
Stan State has four returning players in Jadyn Patterson, Kalyn Harris, Talia Maxwell, and back from last year's red-shirt season is Da'Myiah Lewis. Coach Wayman Strickland and the Warriors welcome new members freshman guard Quinn Garrett, junior guard Krista Andersen, junior guard/forward Alyssa Premo, senior forward Daja Scott-Mitchell, freshman guard Amya Vangkham-Griffin, sophomore guard Tia Barefield, and sophomore guard Aaliyah Dias.
Stan State men's basketball will team with the Warrior women's basketball team to participate in the Warrior Madness, sponsored by the Stan State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, on Wednesday, October 23, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in The Fitzpatrick Arena.
