TURLOCK, Calif.---  After taking the series finale at home with Chico State, Stan State will return to the road for a four-game series with Cal State Monterey this weekend (March 15-17) in Seaside, Calif.  The series will start under the lights with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch this Friday, March 15.  The two teams will play a twilight doubleheader this Saturday, March 16 starting at 2:00 p.m. The series will conclude at noon for a single game on Sunday, March 17.  
 
LAST WEEK:  Stan State lost three of its four games with Chico State this past weekend at home.  The Warriors had a .347 batting average in the four games with four players hitting over .400 in Chris Catalano (.750), Luke Davies (.571), and Kyle Rachels (.471).  Catalano was 12-for-16 with four runs batted in, three runs scored and two home runs.  Austin Balentine picked up the Warrior victory.  Balentine pitched six innings of relief, giving up ten hits and two unearned runs, striking out three and walking four.  
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stan State is 8-10-1 overall and 4-6 in the CCAA.  The Warriors are hitting .298 as a team with a 7.00 earned run average.  
 
STAN STATE HITTERS:  Six Warriors are hitting .275 or higher in Ryan Leonesio (.526), Chris Catalano (.431), Alex Solis (.403), Kyle Rachels (.338), Robert Valdivia (.321), and Tyler Van Dyk (.294).  Catalano and Solis are tied for the team lead in runs batted in each with 14.  R and Catalano each have hit a team high three home runs. Catalano leads the team with his 31 hits while Rachels has scored a team high 15 runs.  Solis leads the team with his nine doubles and Rachels has a team high two triples.  
 
WARRIOR PITCHERS:  Austin Balentine leads the team with his 3-0 record and two saves.  He has been a part of five the Warriors' eight victories.  Tony Jacob has struck out a team leading 21 batters.  Caleb Bertoncini has struck out 14 batters with just five walks. 
 
16 AND COUNTING:  Chris Catalano has reached base safely in his last 16 games.   Danny Murphy has reached base safely in the last nine Warrior games while Ryan Leonesio has hit safely in his last seven games.  Besides Catalano with a seven-game hitting streak, Leonesio has a seven-game hitting streak and Tyler Van Dyk has a six-game hitting streak.  
 
UP TO 9:  Chris Catalano, Alex Solis, and Robert Valdivia each have nine multiple-hit games while Kyle Rachels has seven.  Rachels has four multiple-RBI games with Catalano, Solis, JD Madrigal, and Flavio Perez each with three multiple-RBI games.
 
NATIONALLY RANKED:  Alex Solis is 22^nd in the nation in doubles with nine.  Austin Balentine is 46^th with his three victories and 53^rd with his three saves.  Kyle Rachels is 45^th in triples with two while Chris Catalano is 51^st in hits per game (1.63) and 52^nd in hits (31).  
 
OTTERS:  Cal State Monterey Bay is 13-7 overall and 9-3 in the CCAA after taking three out of four games from SF State in San Francisco.  The Otters won 7-6, 7-2, 15-1, and lost 3-2 in eleven innings.  They are hitting .342 and have a 4.47 earned run average.  Four players are hitting over .350 in KW Quilici (.388), Brady Miguel (.377), JJ Engman (.373), and Jaden Sheppard (.362).  Quilici has a team leading .746 slugging and .506 on-base percentages.  Engman leads team with his 31 hits and 26 runs scored.  He is tied with Miguel and Quilici each with six home runs.  Chase Lindeman has a team high six doubles while Sheppard has driven in a team high 22 runs.  Ryan Piatero is 3-0 on the mound while Nate Rohlicek has a struck out a team high 28 batters.  Nico Hartojo has two of the Otters' three saves. Piatero leads the team with his team low 3.98 earned run average. 
 
LAST SEASON:  CSUMB took three out of four games from the Warriors in their season series, February 25-26 in Turlock.  They won 8-0, 15-6, and 12-5 before losing the Warriors' 7-6 in the series finale.  In the series finale victory, Jacob Baker was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in Ryan Leonesio with the game-winning run.  Tyler Van Dyk was two-for-three with two runs scored while Robert Valdivia and Flavio Perez each had two hits.  Caleb Bertoncini pitched 0.2 scoreless inning of relief striking out two.
