Warriors Close Out Home Stand with CCAA Openers
TURLOCK, Calif. – The Stanislaus State women's soccer team begins its quest through the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) this weekend, closing out a three-match home stand with two conference openers at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors host Cal State East Bay on Friday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Warriors in Review
Stanislaus State carries a 4-1-2 overall record into league play, including a 3-1-1 mark at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors are unbeaten in their last five matches and have conceded only five goals across seven contests while posting four shutouts, anchored by goalkeeper Zara Mujica and a defense that has limited opponents to just eight shots per game. Mujica holds a 0.71 goals-against average and .848 save percentage.
On the offensive side, Haylee Sousa leads with two goals and one assist. Kellyann Rodriguez has added a goal and two assists, while Jocelin Roa and Aliah Avila have each chipped in with multiple contributions. Jocelyn Figueroa, Grace Fabionar, and Olivia Maragos have also provided timely goals to help Stan State outscore opponents 8-5 this fall.

The Warriors head into CCAA action with momentum after back-to-back victories. At Westmont, Kellyann Rodriguez scored the opening goal and Jocelyn Figueroa added the game-winner off an assist from Haylee Sousa to secure a 2-1 road win. Three days later, Stan State captured the Cowbell Cup with a 1-0 victory over UC Merced in front of more than 500 fans at Warrior Stadium, winning on a dramatic own goal with just two seconds left in regulation.
Promotional Weekend
Friday's 7 p.m. match against Cal State East Bay will serve as the program's annual Kick Cancer Match, while Sunday's 2 p.m. contest versus Cal State Los Angeles will feature Hispanic/Latinx Appreciation. Fans are encouraged to wear pink Friday in support of cancer awareness and return Sunday to join the celebration of Hispanic and Latinx heritage.
Scouting Cal State East Bay
Cal State East Bay (2-4-1) wrapped up non-conference play with a 1-0 loss to Cal Poly Pomona. The Pioneers are paced by Morgan Pearson, who has three goals and two game-winners, while goalkeeper Ashley Levi owns a 1.32 goals-against average with 22 saves. Stanislaus State leads the all-time series 19-4-4, with East Bay taking last year's meeting 2-0 in Hayward. The Warriors earned a 3-2 victory the last time the teams met in Turlock in 2023.
Scouting Cal State Los Angeles
Cal State Los Angeles (3-1-3) has allowed just four goals all season behind goalkeeper Kendyl Sumlin, who holds a 0.57 goals-against average and four shutouts. Offensively, Delia Bocanegra (two goals, three assists) and Jacqueline Marin (two goals, one assist) lead the Golden Eagles. The all-time series between the programs is tied 14-14-5. Cal State Los Angeles claimed last year's matchup in Turlock, 3-1, while Stanislaus State won the 2022 meeting at home, 2-1.

Goalkeeper Zara Mujica ranks 14th in the nation with four shutouts this season. In the CCAA, she is tied for first in shutouts, second in saves, third in save percentage, and fifth in goals-against average. On the attacking side, Haylee Sousa is tied for fifth in the conference in goals, tied for sixth in game-winning goals, and sits tenth in points. Grace Fabionar is tied for sixth in game-winning goals. In the playmaking category, Aliah Avila is tied for first in assists, while Kellyann Rodriguez is tied for third.
Moving On Up
Aliah Avila continues to climb the Stanislaus State career record books. She is tied for fifth all-time with seven game-winning goals and has recorded 13 career assists — just three shy of cracking the program's top 10 in that category.

The Warriors will face Cal State San Bernardino at 3 p.m. on Oct. 10 and take on Cal Poly Pomona at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 12.
