Tennis Finishes Regular Season with Senior Day and Visit to Urban Knights
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State play two matches this week. The first, on Thursday, April 10th at 4:00 p.m. will be an exhibition match that will honor the seniors for Senior Day. This will take place in Modesto, Calif. at Del Rio Country Club. On Friday, April 11th, the Warriors will play their final regular season match at Academy of Art, starting at 10:00 a.m.
LAST WEEK: This past week, Stan State traveled to Rocklin, Calif. to face Jessup University. Stan State swept Jessup 7-0, with Annabelle Mulick and Emma Yu winning in both the singles and the doubles. Jaedyn Hendryx also played and won her first singles match of the season 6-0, 6-3.
STAN STATE WARRIORS: Stan State is 10-6 overall and 10-3 in conference, with two of their losses coming from Division I opponents. Emma Yu and Annabelle Mulick have an 9-7 doubles record, while Parker Orlando and Abbigail Mulick hold an 8-4 record. Orlando has increased her record to 12-3 in singles, followed by Annabelle Mulick and Abbigail Mulick with 8-6 records.
URBAN KNIGHTS: Academy of Art is 5-8 overall, having recently come back from a trip to Hawai'i and San Rafael, Calif. Two of their five wins are over Chaminade, with the most recent being a 6-0 win in Hawai'i. Amelija Supulniece holds the best record at 11-2 and is ranked 20th in singles in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as of this writing. With partner Jessica Plazas, the doubles pair is ranked 33rd with a 4-0 record.
UP NEXT: The Warriors have officially qualified for the PacWest Conference Championship Tournament. The final seeding will be determined this Saturday, April 12th. The Tournament will begin April 16th and run through April 19th.
