Warriors Bolster Men’s Basketball Roster with Six Impactful Additions for 2025-26
TURLOCK, Calif. — Stanislaus State Men's Basketball is proud to announce the signing of six new student-athletes to its 2025-26 roster. This diverse and talented group brings size, shooting, athleticism, and championship pedigree to the Warriors' program under the direction of Head Coach Paul Trevor.
"We are extremely excited about this class," said Coach Trevor. "Each of these young men brings something unique to the table, and we believe they all fit our culture of toughness, skill, and unselfish play. We can't wait to get to work with them."
Jaylen Valdez
6'3 | Guard | Sacramento, Calif. | Destiny Christian
Valdez arrives at Stan State as a proven winner and floor general, having led Destiny Christian to four league titles and a Nor-Cal Finals appearance. A two-time League MVP and All-San Joaquin Section selection was also the Large School Player of the Year.
Coach's Quote: "Jaylen is going to be a great addition to the program and this recruiting class. His feel for the game and IQ set him apart from the rest. He's extremely competitive and fearless as a player. He has won a ton of games at Destiny Christian and fits the mold of being a Warrior."
Caedmon Dickson
6'6 | Guard/Wing | Santa Clara, Calif. | The King's Academy
Dickson brings size, versatility, and a winning background to the Warriors. He was named WBAL League MVP and Second Team All-Bay Area after leading his team to a NorCal Division 3 title, two CCS championships, and WBAL Championships. The CCA Sportsmanship Award recipient was The King's Academy Male Athlete of the Year.
Coach's Quote: "Caedmon is a unique player that brings versatility and the ability to stretch the floor for our squad. He has great size for his position and will continue to develop as he matures in the program. His shooting ability and skillset will be a great addition to this Freshman class."
Malachi Johnson
6'10 | Wing/Forward | Sacramento, Calif. | Inderkum High School
A long, athletic, and versatile frontcourt player, Johnson is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection who helped lead his team to the CVC League Championship twice during his interscholastic career. He was also the recipient of the Most Improved Player award.
Coach's Quote: "Malachi is an extremely talented young player. We were excited to add him to the roster after having his brother Malik on the squad last year as a freshman. Malachi has the tools to be able to score inside and out as well as defend multiple positions on the defensive end. The coaching staff is very excited to develop and work with Malachi this upcoming year."
Ross Widemon
6'0 | Guard | Turlock, Calif. | Turlock High
A local standout with deep shooting range, Widemon earned First Team All-League honors and was part of three Section Championship teams at Modesto Christian before transferring to Turlock High. Widemon was on the Principal's
Highest Honor Roll during his interscholastic career.
Coach's Quote: "Ross is a quick guard with the ability to shoot the ball from deep. He falls in line with the many local talents we have had here at Stan State. We are excited for Ross to develop and be able to play in front of his friends and family in the Fitz."
Javon Johnson
6'5 | Guard | Antioch, Calif. | De La Salle / Cal State Monterey Bay
Johnson brings valuable CCAA experience to the Warriors, having spent three seasons at Cal State Monterey Bay, where he led the league in three-point shooting at 45 percent. The First Team All-League honoree was the Most Valuable Player of the Vontour Classic during his high school career.
Coach's Quote: "Javon brings CCAA experience to our group that graduated 5 seniors. We have coached against Javon at Monterey Bay and always felt like he was a threat on the court. Offensively he can really shoot the ball as well as use his athleticism at the rim. Defensively he will challenge the opposing team's primary scorers with his length for the position. We are excited to have Javon for his Senior year and watch him blend with our group."
Donjae Lindsey
6'1 | Guard | Stockton, Calif. | Weston Ranch / East LA College
Lindsey has track record of winning at both the high school and junior college levels. He helped East LA College to a 25-game win streak and a Final Four finish in the California JUCO playoffs. The Team Most Valuable Player at Weston Reach was a four-time All-League honoree who helped lead his team to the NorCal State Championship and Section Championship.
Coach's Quote: "Donjae is a dynamic athlete at the guard position. He brings an ability to get down-hill and put pressure on the defense by beating his man 1v1 or in transition where he excels. He is a great compliment to the pieces we have on the roster and brings a competitive mindset from his time at Weston Ranch as well as East LA. We are excited to see what Donjae brings to the table this Fall."
This impressive recruiting class signals a bright future for the Warriors as they gear up for the 2025-26 season.
