Warrior Men’s Basketball Adds Three More to the Class of 2024
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State head men's basketball coach Paul Trevor has three more additions to the 2024-25 Warrior roster in Malik Johnson, Antony Newman-Gomez, and Skylar Strickland. The trio join Jason Cibull, JJ Funk, and Fabian Reichstadt as the six newcomers to the 2024-25 Warriors.
"We are excited to add these three key freshmen to our program," stated Trevor. "Our coaching staff is looking forward to watching these three develop over the years."
Malik Johnson is a 6-9 forward from Sacramento, Calif. He graduated this Spring from Inderkum High School where he was a member of the boys' basketball team. Johnson earned Second Team All-District Team and All-Capital Valley Conference honors in 2023-24. Inderkum captured the Capital Valley Conference this past season.

Antony Newman-Gomez is a 6-4 guard from Apple Valley, Calif. The First Team All-CIF honoree earned First Team All-Mojave River League and was the Drew League High School Invitational Player of the Game. He graduated from Hesperia High School this past Spring. Hesperia was undefeated in Mojave River League games. Newman-Gomez played an integral role in Hesperia being CIF semi-finalists and Mojave River League Champions. He was Hesperia's Class Valedictorian and a member of the Principal's Honor Roll.

Strickland is a 6-0 point guard from Stockton, Calif., where he graduated from Saint Mary's High School in 2023. This past year, he attended Winston Salem Christian Prep School. Strickland was a Three-Time First Team All-TCAL honoree, Three-Time TCAL All-Defense selection, Six County All-Star Selectee, and Simply All-Start Selectee. He helped lead Saint Mary's to a 22-7 overall record and a 9-3 record in the conference.

Stan State will begin its 2024-25 regular season in Hayward, Calif., participating in the CCAA/PacWest Challenge November 8-9 on the campus of Cal State East Bay. The Warriors' home opener is set for November 23 against UC Merced at 3pm.
