Stan State Falls to Cal State San Bernardino in Straight Sets
TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stanislaus State volleyball team showed grit and determination on Saturday night, battling one of the CCAA's top programs in Cal State San Bernardino before falling in straight sets, 25–20, 25–14, 25–21, inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
Despite the result, Stanislaus State (10–11 overall, 8–6 CCAA) remains in fifth place in the conference standings and continues to compete for a postseason berth. Cal State San Bernardino (16–5, 11–3 CCAA), currently sitting in second place in the CCAA standings, hit .255 as a team and extended its win streak to three matches.
FIRST SET
Stanislaus State played with confidence early, staying even with San Bernardino through much of the opening frame. Teagan Irish and Christallynn Tate combined for six kills, while Leah Mendoza anchored the back row with key digs that helped the Red and Gold rally to within two late before the Coyotes closed the set, 25–20.
SECOND SET
Cal State San Bernardino used an efficient offensive attack to control the second frame, hitting .345 while holding Stanislaus State to a .061 clip. Malia Tanksley added several timely kills through the middle, and Reagan Wilkerson provided a spark from the service line with three aces on the night.
THIRD SET
Stanislaus State came out strong in the third, jumping to a 7–0 lead behind Wilkerson's serving run. Irish continued to pace the Red and Gold with her most efficient match of the season, hitting .429, while Mendoza tallied multiple defensive saves to keep Stan State within reach. The Coyotes, however, used a late surge to take the set 25–21 and secure the sweep.

Stan State to Host CCAA Volleyball Championship
Stanislaus State will host the 2025 CCAA Volleyball Championship Tournament, November 20–22, at Fitzpatrick Arena. The top six teams in the conference will qualify, with the top two seeds earning first-round byes. Following Saturday's results, Cal Poly Pomona (14–0), Cal State San Bernardino (11–3), Cal State LA (11–3), and Cal State East Bay (10–4) have clinched spots in the upcoming CCAA Tournament. Stanislaus State (8–6) remains in fifth place, ahead of San Francisco State (7–7), as the Red and Gold aim for their second straight postseason appearance and third in the last four years.

Stanislaus State continues CCAA play on Thursday, November 6, traveling to UC Merced for a 7 p.m. matchup before returning home for Senior Night on Saturday, November 8, at 5 p.m. against Cal State Monterey Bay.
