No. 12 Stan State Women Finish Runner-Up at CCAA Championships
CHICO, Calif. — The No. 12-ranked Stanislaus State women's cross country team delivered another impressive postseason performance Friday morning, placing second at the 2025 CCAA Cross Country Championships presented by Pollo Campero at Bidwell Park. The Warriors totaled just 24 points in the team standings.
Chico State's Iresh Molina captured the individual title with a time of 21:32.7, while Stan State's Annie Wild led the Warriors with a runner-up finish in 21:39.5. Other standouts for the Warriors included Izzy Soto (7th, 22:05.7), Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva (8th, 22:06.3), Nina Furtado (10th, 22:10.9), and Bela Moreno (12th, 22:12.3). Crystal Hernandez (16th, 22:16.2) and Tessa Vasquez (18th, 22:34.8) also placed inside the top 20 as Stan State showcased its depth with six runners in scoring position.
All five of Stan State's top-15 finishers — Wild, Soto, Sanchez-Silva, Furtado, and Moreno — earned All-CCAA honors for their performances. It marks the third straight All-CCAA selection for both Sanchez-Silva and Wild, and the second consecutive honor for Hernandez.
The runner-up finish continues Stan State's dominant stretch in the CCAA, marking the program's third top-two conference finish in the past four seasons. The Warriors previously won back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022 and placed second to Chico State last fall.
Also running for the Warriors this morning were Makenzie Kordic (28th, 23:14.9), Stevie Holguin (36th,23:29.6), and Aubrey Webb (40th, 23:33.2),.
Stan State remains ranked No. 12 nationally and No. 2 in the West Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll released Oct. 15 and will look to carry that momentum into the NCAA postseason.
