Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team; Eight Warriors Earn Scholar-Athlete Honors

TEMPE, Ariz.--- As announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) today, eight members of the 2024-25 Stan State women's tennis were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. The Warriors, coached by Verek Visaraga, were recipients of the ITA All-Academic Team Award.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above or higher for the 2024-25 academic year and be included on the team's eligibility roster. For ITA All-Academic Team status, a team must have a 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the current 2024-25 academic year.

Nicollet Alexander, Jaedyn Hendryx, Annabelle Mulick, Parker Orlando, Alyssa Tay, Maiah White, Emma Yu, and Abigail Zhurko were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2024-25. In May, Abbigail Mulick, Annabelle Mulick, Alyssa Tay, and Emma Yu were named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team sponsored by College Sports Communicators.

At the STANYS Awards ceremony in May, the Warriors were named recipients of the Team Academic Award.  The Warrior women's tennis team has won this award six times in the past and this year marked the sixth in a row.  The Warrior women's tennis team had a team grade point average of 3.67. Annabelle Mulick, Alyssa Tay, and Emma Yu were also inducted into the first class of the Stan State chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society.
