Stan State Volleyball Receives Votes in CCAA and AVCA Preseason Polls

TURLOCK, Calif. – Stanislaus State volleyball has been picked to finish fifth in the 2025 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office this week. The Warriors are also receiving votes in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Preseason Poll under fourth-year head coach Lauren Flowers for the first time in program history for preseason, and the second time for the AVCA poll during any season.

They finished the 2024 season with a 22-8 overall record and a 12-6 record in conference play after securing the CCAA Volleyball Championship and going to the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament.  

This fall, Stan State returns 11 players from last season's squad. Among them are Malia Tanksley, who earned CCAA Freshman of the Year honors, and Isabella Saucedo, who was named to the CCAA Volleyball Tournament All-Tournament team.  

The Warriors open the 2025 season at Fresno Pacific University's Sunbird Classic tournament on Friday, September 5. Stan State's first home match will be September 18 versus Cal State Dominguez Hills, which will also be the first game of conference play.

The CCAA Volleyball Championships begin November 20, which will be hosted by Stan State. The top six teams at the end of the regular season will receive a berth to the CCAA Volleyball Championship with the top two seeds earning a first-round bye. The first round will take place November 20, with the semi-finals and final match take place November 21 and 22, respectively. The winner of the CCAA Volleyball Championship capturing the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.

The NCAA Division II West Regional Championship will take place December 5, 6, and 8 at a site to be determined. The winner of the West Region will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships. This year's championships will take place at the Sanford Pentagon on December 11-13 in Sioux Fall, South Dakota.
