Women's Soccer Tied for Third in CCAA Coaches Preseason Poll

Stan State women's soccer is tied to finish third the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) according to the 2025 CCAA Preseason Women's Soccer Poll that was released by the conference office today.  The Warriors, under the direction of head coach Gabriel Bolton, received one first place vote and 110 total votes, tying with Cal State Los Angeles.
 
Stan State finished the 2024 campaign in the CCAA semi-finals versus the reigning NCAA Division II Champions Cal Poly Pomona.  The Warriors went 10-8-2 overall and 7-6 in the CCAA. 
 
The Warriors return All-CCAA honorees Aliah Avila (First Team), Shauna Johnston (Honorable Mention), Jocelin Roa (Honorable Mention), and Makeila Yancey (Honorable Mention). Aliah Avila earned Midfielder of the Year and earned D2CCA All-American Honors, becoming Stan State's fourth women's soccer All-American.
 
Stan State's final exhibition match will take place on Saturday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. where the Warriors will take on Dominican University of California.

The Warriors will begin the regular season at home on Thursday, September 4 versus Saint Martin's University with kickoff scheduled for 5:00pm. 
 
Stan State will begin CCAA play on Friday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. when Stan State will entertain Cal State East Bay at Warrior Stadium.  This will be the first of eleven conference matches for the Warriors concluding on November 6 at UC Merced.  The top six teams at the end of the regular season will receive a bid to the 2025 CCAA Championships.  The First Round of the CCAA Soccer Championships are set for Sunday, November 9 at the sites of two higher seeds with the number one and two seeds receiving first round byes. The CCAA Semi-finals and Finals will take place at Cardinale Stadium on the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay in Seaside, Calif., November 14 and 16.  The winner of the CCAA Women Soccer Championships will receive the conference's automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships.
