STAN Magazine Feature: Dr. Deborah Kavasch
Dr. Deborah Kavasch is a world-renown musician. Composer, soprano, violinist, and educator –— her music has echoed across the world globe for decades, from Stan State’s Snider Recital Hall all the way to London’s Barbican Centre.In her final semester as a full-time instructor faculty member of 45 years, Stan State’s resident professor of music theory and composition shows no signs of slowing down. Her most recent composition, “The Peace of Wild Things: A Reflection,”, taking inspiration from a poem by a Wendell Berry, will be recorded in June by the London Symphony Orchestra with featured violinist Davide Alogna of Italy on a Stradivarius.The London Symphony Orchestra’s recording of Dr. Kavasch’s composition will be available to stream later this year through Naxos Records and other related streaming sources.Read the full article in the Spring 2024 issue of Stan Mag.
