Thirty-Three Warrior Student-Athletes Named to CCAA Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll
TURLOCK, Calif.--- As announced by the office of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), thirty-three Stan State Warrior student-athletes were named to the 2023-24 CCAA Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.
The CCAA sponsors the following sports in the winter and spring: men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's and women's outdoor track and field, and men's golf.
Eligible honorees shall be of sophomore standing athletically at the start of the playing season and may include graduate students. They shall have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 and shall have competed in the sport in that season. This year, there were 636 student-athletes to earn CCAA Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll accolades.
Of these thirty-three Warriors: one was named to the 2023-24 Academic All-America® Softball Team (Mikaela Ferreira) and one was a NCAA Division II All-American in Track & Field (Najwa Chouati), twenty were named to their respective Academic All-District® Teams, four earned All-Region honors, and seven earned All-CCAA honors. Five were recipients of awards at The STANYS in Mikaela Ferreira (Female Athlete of the Year, Female Scholar Athlete of the Year), Jeremiah Jones (CCAA Hal Charnofsky Award), Trent Lauderdale (Male Scholar Athlete of the Year), Taylor Pilot (CCAA Hal Charnofsky Award), Dominic Robles (Will Keener Sportsmanship Award).
