Jackson Oliveira Captures SF State Invitational Title, Warriors Finish Fourth in Team Standings
SAN FRANCISCO--- Sophomore Jackson Oliveira captured the individual title and twin brother Mason finished third as the Stanislaus State men's cross country team placed fourth overall at the San Francisco State Invitational on Friday at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park.
Oliveira clocked 24:17.6 to win the 8K race, edging Concordia's Noah Plaza by five seconds. Mason Oliveira crossed in 24:36.0 to take third, marking the second time this season the brothers have finished in the top three together.
Freshman Jonathan Hupman placed 30th in 25:58.3, Patricio Kearney finished 32nd in 26:02.8, and Quentin Clarke rounded out the scoring for the Warriors in 39th at 26:10.2. Osvaldo Segoviano (78th, 26:59.2) and Austin Hein (84th, 27:05.4) also turned in solid efforts.
Eighth-ranked Chico State won the meet with 45 points, followed by Azusa Pacific (70) and Concordia (77). Stanislaus State totaled 88 points to finish fourth among 14 programs with a team time of 2:07:04.9 and a 25:24 average.
The Warriors also finished ahead of four other CCAA programs—Cal Poly Humboldt, Cal State East Bay, UC Merced, and San Francisco State.
The meet featured several regionally ranked programs, including No. 1 Chico State, No. 9 Azusa Pacific, No. 10 Concordia, and No. 5 Biola, highlighting the strength of the West Region field.
Stanislaus State will now shift its focus to the postseason, beginning with the CCAA Championships on October 24 at Bidwell Park in Chico. Two weeks later, the Warriors will race at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships on November 8 at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon, as they aim to qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships on November 22 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
