Former Stan State All-Conference Performer, Andrew Stueve, to Throw Out First Pitch, April 12
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State's Baseball Andrew Stueve'12 will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch prior to game one of the Warriors' doubleheader versus Sonoma State University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. The first pitch will take place at approximately 12:55 p.m.
Stueve was a member of the Warrior baseball team from 2008-11. During that time, he went 20-10 on the mound including 6-2 in 2011. He had ten complete games during his career including two shutouts. Stueve struck out 208 batters and walked 55 in 327 innings. The two-time All-CCAA honoree was a First Team All-Conference selection in 2011. His 20 victories place him sixth on the Warrior' top ten list. His 208 strikeouts ties him for fifth place while his 327 innings are fifth.
The Modesto, Calif., native is married to the former Ann Lauren Valencia of Ripon, Calif., and they have a son, Paul Melvin Stueve. After Stan State, Stueve was signed by the Kansas City Royals. He played for the Royals from 2011 to 2012 and then was released. He coached a season at Central Catholic 2013 and Stan State 2014 then went into the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in 2015.
Major Andrew reported to Office Candidate School in January of 2015 commissioning in March 2015. He then reported to Basic Schol in March and graduated in September. Upon graduation, Major Stueve traveled to Pensacola, Fla., for Introductory Flight Screening. After completion, he left Florida for Corpus Christi, Tex. For Primary Flight School. Major Stueve was selected for rotary wing aircraft and then traveled back to Milton, Fla., for Advanced Flight School earning his wings in November of 2017. Ever since then, he has been stationed all over including Iceland, Norway, Japan, and Korea.
In April 2024, Major Stueve graduated the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course earning the designation of WTI. In June, he took over as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer (AMO) leading the Maintenance Department into Service Level Training Exercise 2-24 in 29 Palms, Ariz. In October, he started a five-month Skill Bridge program preparing himself for a transition out of the USMC.

- Free Youth Clinic Set for Nov. 22 During CCAA Volleyball Tournament at Stanislaus StateAs part of the 2025 CCAA Volleyball Tournament festivities hosted at Stanislaus State, local youth will have the chance to take the court at Fitzpatrick Arena for a free volleyball clinic on Saturday, Nov. 22. The one-hour clinic, open to boys and girls in grades K–8, will run from 1:30–2:30 p.m. inside Fitzpatrick Arena. Participants will receive a Molten volleyball and a free ticket to the CCAA Championship match at 5 p.m. the same evening.
