Her legacy is secure in the Wayne and Donna Pierce Trans-California Pathway and the Friends of Donna Pierce Study Room in the Vasché Library, but Donna Pierce, who passed away Sept. 7 at 81, left an enduring imprint at Stanislaus State far beyond just a plaque.

Stanislaus State's Annie Wild has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA)/FloCollege Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced this morning.

Ranked No. 14 nationally, Stan State looks to keep its momentum rolling this week with two pivotal West Region matchups to close out its non-conference schedule. The Warriors will host Menlo College—receiving national votes in last week's United Soccer Coaches/NCAA Division II poll—on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m., before heading to San Rafael to face Dominican (Calif.) on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 3:30 p.m.

This Week in Warrior Sports September 15–21, 2025Volleyball to Begin Four-Match Home Stand This Thursday, September 18 on Student Affairs Night After being on the road for their first seven matches of the regular season, the Stan State Warrior volleyball team will begin a four-match home stand this week with a pair of CCAA matches. The Warriors will host Cal State Dominguez Hills this Thursday, Sept. 18 at 5:00 p.m. on Student Affairs Night. They will continue their home stand by facing Cal State San Marcos at 2:00 p.m. on Camper Reunion Day, Saturday, Sept. 20.

Stan State Men's and Women's Basketball will host their Tip-Off Dinner on Tuesday, November 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dust Bowl Brewing Company in Turlock, Calif.

The Stanislaus State cross country teams opened their 2025 season on a strong note Saturday evening at the Kim Duyst Twilight, hosted at River Oaks Golf Course. The No. 17 nationally ranked Warrior women captured the team title in the 6K race, while the men's team posted a seventh-place finish in a deep 8K field led by two top-20 performances.

Behind a disciplined back line and five saves from goalkeeper Zara Mujica, Stanislaus State recorded its third shutout of the season in a 1–0 victory over Menlo on Saturday night at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors' defensive effort set the tone before Haylee Sousa broke through with a 16th-minute strike off an assist from Aliah Avila, lifting Stan State to 2-1-1 on the year.

Stanislaus State volleyball closed out its seven-match, season-opening road trip in dramatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, edging out UT Permian Basin in five sets (25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 17-25, 15-11) to wrap up play at the Biola/Vanguard Kickoff Classic. Sophomore outside hitter Malia Tanksley led the way with a career-high 14 kills, helping fuel the Warriors' strong start and clutch finish.
