Stan State Women’s Tennis Announces the Signing of Parker Orlando and Abigail Zhurko
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State head women's tennis coach Verek Visaraga has announced the signing of two incoming freshmen to the 2024-24 roster in Parker Orlando and Abby Zhurko.
"These two players are going to make an immediate impact within singles and doubles line-ups," said Visaraga." "I am looking forward to seeing each of these new Warriors applying their previous junior tournament and high school successes as they make their transition to the collegiate level!"
Orlando is from Stockton, Calif., where she just graduated from Saint Mary's High School. She was a two-time League Champion at Saint Mary's her junior and senior season. Orlando was a member of the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation while earning the AP Scholar with Honor Award.
Zhurko graduated from Horizon Charter High School this past Spring. The Orangevale, Calif., native was a member of the Horizon Charter High School girls' tennis team. Zhurko was the recipient of the Golden State Merit Diploma and the Honor Chord grade point average for 4.0 and above.
For women's tennis, Stan State is an affiliated member of the PacWest Conference.
