Maragos Nets First Game-Winner as Warrior Defense Posts Fifth Shutout
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stanislaus State rebounded in style Sunday afternoon, edging Cal State Los Angeles (3-3-3, 0-2 CCAA) 1–0 at Warrior Stadium to even its CCAA record at 1–1–0 and improve to 5–2–2 overall. Junior forward Olivia Maragos scored the match's lone goal in the 29th minute, finishing a setup from Haylee Sousa to lift the Warriors to victory.
First half: The Warriors found their rhythm midway through the opening period after a balanced start. Goalkeeper Zara Mujica made two key stops in the half, including a diving save on a low shot from Cal State LA's Itzel Ramirez, as the Warriors carried their advantage into the break.
Second half: Cal State LA pushed forward with urgency, outshooting Stan State 10–3 over the final 45 minutes, but Mujica stood tall with five more saves to preserve the clean sheet.
