Here We Go Again
The 2025–26 academic year officially began on August 20 at Stanislaus State. With the fall semester underway, the Athletics season is set to kick off as three of the five Warrior fall programs begin regular season play this week. Both men's and women's soccer will host home matches at Warrior Stadium, while volleyball opens its season at the Sunbird Classic in Fresno, California, on the campus of Fresno Pacific University.
Stan State women's soccer team will host Saint Martin's this Thursday, September 4 at 5:00 p.m. and Simon Fraser this Sunday, September 7 at 12:30 p.m. The Warrior men's soccer team will entertain Seattle Pacific this Thursday, September 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Western Washington this Saturday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m. The defending CCAA Volleyball Tournament Champions, Stan State Warriors, will face three opponents in the Sunbird Classic on September 5–6. They will take on Fresno Pacific (11:30 a.m.) and Westmont (4:30 p.m.) on Friday, and Menlo (2:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
Women's Soccer to Begin 2025 Hosting Four Regional Matches
Stan State women's soccer team, under the guidance of head coach Gabriel Bolton, will begin their regular season hosting four NCAA DII West Regional matches in Saint Martin's (September 4, 5:00 p.m.), Simon Fraser (September 6, 12:30 p.m.), Hawai'i Hilo (September 10, 7:00 p.m.), and Menlo (September 13, 7:00 p.m.). The Warriors are picked to finish tied for third place according to the CCAA women's soccer coaches' preseason poll. They will begin the CCAA season hosting Cal State East Bay at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 3.
Men's Soccer to Commence 2025 Under the Lights
Under the guidance of third-year head coach John Powell, Stan State will begin its 2025 Stan State men's soccer schedule with a slate of high-profile regional matchups. The Warriors will open the season at home with a pair of pivotal West Region showdowns under the lights at Warrior Stadium. Stan State kicks off the new campaign on Thursday, September 4, hosting Seattle Pacific at 7:30 p.m. Two days later, the Warriors will take on Western Washington on Saturday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m. They are picked to finish eighth in the CCAA according to the coaches' preseason poll. Stan State will begin CCAA play Friday, October 3 at 4:30 p.m. hosting Cal State East Bay.
Volleyball to Begin 2025 on the Road
Stan State's volleyball will start off its 2025 regular season participating in two tournaments. The Warriors, under the tutelage of fourth-year head coach Lauren Flowers, will begin their season at the Sunbird Classic in Fresno, Calif., on the campus of Fresno Pacific. They will face Fresno Pacific (Friday, September 5, 11:30 a.m.), Westmont (Friday, September 5, 4:30 p.m.), and Menlo (Saturday, September 6, 2:00 p.m.) to begin their 2025 regular season. Stan State will travel to Southern California to participate in the Biola/Vanguard Kickoff Tournament September 11–13. The Warriors will face Biola (September 11, 3:30 p.m., Biola), Azusa Pacific (September 12, 10:00 a.m., Vanguard), and Texas-Permian Basin (September 13, 1:00 p.m., Vanguard). Stan State is picked to finish fifth according to the CCAA Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll.
Cross Country to Begin Season Sept. 13 Hosting Kim Duyst Twilight
Both the Warrior men's and women's cross country teams will begin Saturday, September 13 when they host the Kim Duyst Twilight at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres, Calif. The Kim Duyst Twilight will begin at 5:15 p.m. with the Freshman/Sophomore Girls 2K race. The college men's 8K will start approximately at 8:30 p.m. followed by the college women's 6K race at 9:00 p.m. The Warriors will participate in two invitationals—the UC Riverside Invite (September 27) and SF State Invite (October 10)—prior to the CCAA Championships in Chico, Calif., on October 24.
Record Academic Recognition for Warrior Student-Athletes
This past summer saw plenty of academic honors for our 2024-25 Stan State Warrior Student-Athletes and Teams. A record number of 112 Warriors were named to the CCAA All-Academic Team while 64 earned D2ADA Academic Achievement honors. Seven Warrior teams received honors from their respective coaches' association in baseball, men's basketball, men's track & field, volleyball, women's soccer, women's tennis, and women's track & field. Three of these coaches' associations recognized student-athletes with honors men's basketball, women's tennis, and women's and men's track & field. Jason Cibull, Mahda Fallay, Jeremiah Jones, Tahjae Ordonio, and Jordan Smith were named to the NABC Honors Court. Seven women's tennis players were named to the ITA All-Academic Team in Nicollet Alexander, Jaedyn Hendryx, Annabelle Mulick, Parker Orlando, Alyssa Tay, Maiah White, Emma Yu, and Abbigail Zhurko. Four track/field athletes were named USTFCCCA All-Academic recipients in Crystal Hernandez, Trent Lauderdale, Mila Real, and Annie Wild.
National Academic Awards for Lauderdale and Wild
Stan State track/field student-athletes Trent Lauderdale and Annie Wild each were named to Track & Field Academic All-Americans as selected by the Collegiate Sports Communicators. Wild was a Second Team honoree and Lauderdale was a Third Team selection. Besides earning this honor, Wild was named the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA.

- Stan State Men’s Golf Opens 2025-26 Season at Wildcat ClassicThe Stanislaus State men's golf team, led by head coach Brandon Christianson, opens its 2025-26 season at the Wildcat Classic this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 15-16. The 54-hole tournament will be held at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club (Par 72) in Marysville, Calif., with 8:00 a.m. tee times scheduled each day.

- Warriors Open Biola/Vanguard Kickoff Classic with Three-Set Match Against Host EaglesStanislaus State volleyball opened play at the Biola/Vanguard Kickoff Classic on Thursday afternoon with a three-set match against host Biola University. The Warriors challenged the Eagles in the second and third sets before falling 25-16, 25-22, 25-20 at Chase Gymnasium. Stan State finished with 24 kills, five service aces, and three total team blocks in its tournament opener.
- Warriors Stand Tall, Battle No. 14 Hawaii Hilo to Scoreless DrawStanislaus State delivered a statement performance on their home pitch, holding nationally ranked No. 14 Hawaii Hilo to a hard-fought 0–0 draw this evening at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors controlled key moments of the match, outshooting the Vulcans and earning seven corner kicks while not allowing a single one. Goalkeeper Zara Mujica anchored a disciplined defensive effort with her second shutout as a Warrior. With the result, Stanislaus State moves to 1–1–1 on the season, while Hawaii Hilo remains unbeaten at 1–0–2.
- Stan State Cross Country Hosting Kim Duyst Twilight to Open SeasonThe Stanislaus State men's and women's cross country teams will open their 2025 seasons this Saturday, September 13, by hosting the annual Kim Duyst Twilight at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres, Calif. This year's meet will feature 25 collegiate teams and 67 high school teams.

Duran played a pivotal role in the Warriors' perfect 2-0 start to the 2025 regular season, scoring two of the team's six goals.
