Both Warrior Cross Country Teams Place Second in Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational
CERES, Calif.--- Both of the Stan State men's and women's cross country teams placed second in the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational they hosted this evening at the River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres, Calif. Annie Wild paced the Warrior women with a third-placed time of 21:11.6 in the 6K race. On the men's side, Jackson Oliveira ran a 24:31.1 in the 8K race to finish in 12th place to lead the Warrior men.
WOMEN: Annie Wild ran a 21:11.6 in the 6K race to finish in third place and lead the way for Stan State. Chico State's Della Molina and Iresh Molina finished one-two with times of 20:38.1. Behind Wild was Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva with her time of 21:18.0 which placed her fifth. Rounding out Stan State's top five were Crystal Hernandez (10th, 22:02.), Tessa Vasquez (13th, 22:07.6), and Noheli Ron (16th, 22:32.).
Milca Osorio was next to cross the finish line with a time of 22:38.6 followed by Sophia Mirelez (18th, 22:39.7) and Dede Salcedo (20th, 22:48.1). Also participating in this evening's race were: Bela Moreno (25th, 23:01.6), Nina Furtado (25th, 23:07.3), Aubrey Lascano (33rd, 23:56.4), Yelena Ordonez (36th, 24:07.5), and Vanessa Diaz (43rd, 25:02.3).
TEAM: Chico State captured the women's invite with 21 points followed by Stan State with 39 points. SF State was third with 96 points. Finishing in fourth through seventh were UC Merced (115 points), De Anza (148 points), Jessup (169 points), and Dominican (185 points).
MEN: Jackson Oliveira led the Warrior men with his 12th place time of 24:31.1 in the 8K invitational. Ero Doce captured the Kim Duyst Twilight with a time of 23:20.5. Rounding out the top five for Stan State were: Dominic Robles (13th, 24:37.1), Nate Olsen (17th, 24:56.0), Adin Dibble (20th, 24:58.4), and Jacob Diaz (26th, 25:19).
Four other Warriors ran this evening in Tanner Gerhart (33rd, 25:43.2), Brody Vecchione (49th, 26:34.9), Diego Cisneros (60th, 27:10.4), and Abe Alsaidi (86th, 31:10.2).
TEAM: Chico State's men won the Kim Duyst with 15 points. Stan State was second with 53 points followed by UC Merced with 80 points and San Francisco State with 119 points. Rounding out the teams were DeAnza with 126 points and Jessup with 167 points.
UP NEXT: Stan State will return to the course on Friday, October 11 in San Francisco when the Warriors participate in the SF State Invitational at Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park.
