No. 2 Warriors Earn Sixth Shutout, Extend Unbeaten Streak to School-Record 11 in 3-0 Win at Cal Poly Humboldt
ARCATA, Calif.---The No. 2 Stanislaus State Warriors continued their historic start to the season Friday afternoon, defeating Cal Poly Humboldt 3-0 at College Creek Field to extend their unbeaten streak to a school-record 11 matches. The Warriors dominated both sides of the ball, earning their sixth shutout of the year and improving to 10-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 in CCAA play. Stan State also remained perfect away from home, moving to 6-0 on the road this season.
First Half
The Warriors wasted little time asserting control, taking the lead in the 12th minute when Gerardo Flores finished a setup from Christian Brenes for his team-leading seventh goal of the year. The Warriors doubled their lead just before halftime as Sebastian Carbajal struck in the 41st minute, assisted by Alexis Cervantes and Hugo Canedo, sending Stanislaus State into the break ahead 2-0.
Second Half
Kenneth Solares added an insurance goal in the 81st minute, converting a pass from Samuel Villanueva to put the match away. The Warriors outshot the Lumberjacks 15-4 overall and 10-2 in shots on goal, maintaining control throughout. Goalkeeper Angel Ruiz-Hernandez made one first-half save to record his fifth shutout of the season and the team's sixth overall.
