CCAA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS COMING TO AL BRENDA TRACK AT WARRIOR STADIUM, MAY 1-3
For the second year in a row, Stan State will be hosting the 2025 CCAA Track & Field Championships, presented by Polo Camperio this Thursday-Saturday, May 1-3 at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium on the campus of Stanislaus State in Turlock, Calif.
Day one of the CCAA Championships will be this Thursday, May 1 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The multi-events will begin on Thursday. There the following running events will have their prelims ran in the1500-meters, 400-meters, 100-meters, and 400-meter hurdles. The finals of the 10,000-meters will take place at 7:50 p.m. (women) and 8:30 p.m. (men). The finals for the hammer, long jump, and women's pole vault will take place on Thursday.
The multi-events will finish their competition on Friday, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. The finals of the following field events will take place in the triple jump and shot put while the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase will take place Friday evening. There will be prelims ran in the 200-meters and 800-meters as well as the women's 100-hurdles and men's 110-hurdles.
The final day will be Saturday which will commence at 11:00 a.m. There will be finals in all events finishing with the 4x400 relays at around 4:55 p.m. The awards presentations will begin around 5:30 p.m.
MEN'S GOLF HEADING TO THE NCAA'S FOR 25TH TIME AND FIFTH STRAIGHT TIME
Stan State men's golf team will be heading to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships for the 25th time in program history. The Warriors will be traveling to Riverside, Calif., May 8-10 to participate in the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional at the par-72 Victoria Golf Club. The Warriors are the sixth seed out of the West Region.
BASEBALL FINISHES REGULAR SEASON AT CHICO STATE
Stan State will finish its regular season this Thursday-Saturday, May 1-3, with a four-game series at Chico State in Chico, Calif. The Warriors are 19-25 overall and 14-20 in the CCAA. Ryan Leonesio leads the way with his .338 batting average and .430 on-base percentage. Flavio Perez has driven in a team leading 30 runs and has a team high 16 doubles. Perez is tied for the team lead in home runs with Alex Solis each with five. Solis has scored a team high 29 runs. Jacob Baker leads the team with his 11 stolen bases. Austin Balentine has recorded five wins to lead the Warrior pitchers. Cameron Rosen and Noah Chelberg each have recorded a team leading two saves. Rocco Gurrola has struck out a team high 43 batters.
SOFTBALL ENDED 2025 IN HUMBOLDT
Stan State ended its 2025 softball season this weekend with three games in Humboldt County. The Warriors finished with a 13-34 overall record and a 8-27 CCAA record. Malia Babasa hit a team high .335 to go with her 52 hits and team leading eight stolen bases. She tied for the team lead in runs scored with Karli DalBianco each with 22. McKenna Beach had a team high .459 slugging percentage to go with her team leading five home runs. DalBianco drove
in a team leading 21 runs and also led the Warriors with her 68 total bases and nine doubles. Victoria Alarcon has a team low 3.09 earned run average. She led Stan State with her seven victories and 80 strikeouts.
WARRIORS HAVE SIX NCAA DII QUALIFYING TIMES
The Stan State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have recorded NCAA Division II qualifying times in six events heading into next week's CCAA Championships at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium, May 1-3. Trent Lauderdale is seventh in the 400-hurdles (51.16) and 50th in the 400-meter dash (47.53). Annie Wild is sixth in the 1500-meter run (4:19.67) and 17th in the 800-meter run (2:08.76). Mila Real is 29th in the 400-hurdles (1:01.27) while Jackson Oliveira is 52nd in the 5000-meter run (14:15.54). This year's NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, May 22-24, at The ThunderBowl on the campus of CSU Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo.
MEN'S GOLF FINISH SIXTH AT CCAA'S
Stan State men's golf finished in sixth place at the 2025 CCAA Men's Golf Championships presented by UnderArmour last week at the par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif. The Warriors shot a 16-over par 880, which finished them in sixth place. Chris Chomyn paced the Warriors with his one-over par 217 that tied him for fourth place. With his fourth place finish, Chomyn earned All-Tournament honors for the third straight year.

This week's Stan State Warrior Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by KW Recovery Lab, are men's golfer Chris Chomyn and baseball first baseman/designated hitter Luke Davies.
Chris Chomyn was named to the CCAA Championships All-Tournament Team for the third straight year as he finished in a tie for fourth place at the CCAA's this past week in Santa Barbara, Calif. Chomyn shot a three-round score of one-over par 217 (72-73-72) to lead Stan State to a sixth-place team finish. The senior golfer either parred or birdied on 49 of the 54 holes at the par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club.
Luke Davies hit .400 with six hits in 15 at-bats in the Warriors' four-game series with CSUMB. Of his six hits, one was a double and he posted a .467 slugging percentage to go with his .438 on-base percentage. Davies drove in both Warrior runs in their series finale 5-2 loss on Sunday. He scored three times and had a steal. At first base, Davies had a 1.000 fielding percentage with 25 putouts and no errors.

- Warriors Drop Two Tight Matches at Sunbird Classic to Begin 2025Stanislaus State volleyball opened the 2025 season on Friday at the Sunbird Classic with two tightly contested matches, highlighted by junior libero Leah Mendoza tying the program's single-match record with 40 digs and junior middle blocker Lauren Hamilton moving into a six-way tie for fifth all-time in single-match blocks (9 total). The Warriors pushed host Fresno Pacific to five sets in the morning before narrowly falling to Westmont in four sets during the afternoon session.
- Late Strike Lifts Warriors Over Seattle Pacific in Season OpenerStanislaus State opened the 2025-26 season in thrilling fashion with a 2-1 home victory over Seattle Pacific on Wednesday night at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors struck first in the 44th minute on a goal by Alexis Cervantes and, after conceding a second-half equalizer via a penalty kick, regained the lead in the 87th with a game-winning strike from Gerardo Flores. Stan State outshot SPU 13-5 and controlled 57% of the possession, showing early season form in their home opener.
- Warriors Dominate Saints in Regular Season Home OpenerStanislaus State opened the 2025-26 women's soccer season in strong fashion with a 1-0 shutout victory over Saint Martin's in the home opener at Warrior Stadium on Thursday night.Grace Fabionar netted the match-winner in the 55th minute — her first career collegiate goal — off a double assist from Kellyann Rodriguez and Aliah Avila. The Warriors dominated the match with 62% of possession, a 21-4 shot advantage, and limited the Saints to just three shots on goal. Zara Mujica, making her Stan State debut, recorded three saves to earn her first clean sheet as a Warrior.
- Warrior Women’s Cross Country Ranked No. 17 Nationally, Tops West Region in Preseason PollThe Stanislaus State women's cross country team has been ranked No. 17 in the 2025 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)/NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Preseason National Poll, released today. Under the leadership of head coach Darren Holman, the Warriors also earned the No. 1 ranking in the USTFCCCA/NCAA Division II West Region Preseason Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

- Volleyball Travels to Fresno for Sunbird Classic to Begin 2025 SeasonThe Stanislaus State volleyball team begins its 2025 season this week at the Sunbird Classic, hosted by Fresno Pacific University, playing three matches in the tournament. The Warriors play non-conference opponents in all three games, beginning with Fresno Pacific on Friday, September 5 at 11:30 a.m. followed by Westmont College that evening at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, September 6, Stan State faces Menlo College at 2:00 p.m.
