Warriors Sweep CSUSM to Start Homestand 2-0
TURLOCK, Calif. – Stanislaus State volleyball continued its early conference momentum with a sweep of Cal State San Marcos, 25-14, 25-22, 25-16, on Saturday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Arena. The Warriors swung efficiently all afternoon, piling up 41 kills while hitting .344 as a team, and backed it with 37 digs and seven total team blocks.
FIRST SET
Stan State (4-5, 2-0 CCAA) set the tone right away with a balanced attack and steady serving. The Warriors racked up 14 kills with a .412 hitting percentage while holding Cal State San Marcos (1-9, 0-2 CCAA) to just 14 points. Three team blocks sparked the defense as the Warriors pulled away for a convincing 25-14 win.
SECOND SET
The middle frame proved to be the tightest of the day, featuring 11 ties and five lead changes. Cal State San Marcos (1-9, 0-2 CCAA) pushed the Warriors, but timely kills from Isabella Saucedo and Emily Meyer, paired with strong back-row defense led by Leah Mendoza, kept the Warriors steady. Setter Shaelyn Pruiett guided the attack with precision, feeding her hitters throughout the set, and a late service ace sealed the 25-22 win to give Stan State a 2-0 match lead.
THIRD SET
With momentum on their side, the Warriors left little doubt in the clincher. They spread the offense across six players, hit .258, and delivered four service aces. On defense, Stan State's front line frustrated Cal State San Marcos with two more blocks, while the back row tallied double-digit digs to close out the 25-16 victory and complete the sweep.

- Isabella Saucedo led the way with nine kills and four block assists.
- Emily Meyer added eight kills, while Fallon Freeman hit .500 with six kills.
- Setter Shaelyn Pruiett posted a season-high 27 assists, accounting for two-thirds of Stan State's kills, while also adding seven digs, one kill, and a service ace.
- Leah Mendoza anchored the defense with a team-high 10 digs.
- Stan State finished with eight service aces, including two each from Reagan Wilkerson and Irene London.

The Warriors continue their four-match homestand next weekend. They will host Chico State on Friday, Sept. 26, and Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday, Sept. 27, with both matches scheduled for 5 p.m.
