TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State travels to Cal State San Bernardino for a pair of doubleheaders beginning on Friday, March 7^th at 12:00 p.m. The second doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8^th.
 
LAST WEEK: The Warriors swept Chico State, who was receiving votes for top 25 contention in the Nation Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll last week. In the first doubleheader, Stan State claimed the first game 5-2 and won the second game 5-4. Malia Babasa was exactly where she needed to be to aid the offense with two runs batted in the first game and scoring two runs herself in the second game. The doubleheader on March 1^st began with a 3-2 win for the Warriors and concluded with a 1-0 nail biter that Karli DalBianco walked-off with a double in the 10^th inning to score Malia Babasa from first.
 
WARRIORS IN REVIEW: Stan State has improved to 7-11 overall and 4-4 in CCAA play. The Warriors are hitting .267 as a team and hold a 3.31 earned run average. The Warriors have a .303 slugging percentage .344 on base percentage. Their 25 errors over 18 games earn them a .954 fielding percentage.
 
HITTERS: Three Warriors are hitting over .300 in Katie Thornsberry (.366), Malia Babasa (.365), and Lauryn Serda (.314). Babasa leads the team in hits with 23. McKenna Beach has earned the most runs batted in with eight and has hit the Warriors' only home run thus far. Malia Babasa has made it across home plate 11 times and is the team leader in slugging with .397 percent. Katie Thornsberry has a team-leading .447 on base percentage and three stolen bases.
 
PITCHERS: Victoria Alacron has a 3-4 record, leading the team in strikeouts with 38 over 41.2 innings of work. Sasha Martello maintains the lowest earned run average at 2.58 with 21.2 innings pitched and boosted her record to 2-1 this week. Bree Barner has recorded Stan State's only save thus far.  
 
MULTIPLES: Malia Babasa has earned the most multi-hit games at six, with five games with two hits and one game with three hits. Lauryn Serda and Karli DalBianco follow with four games, with Serda's all being two hits and DalBianco having three two-hit games and one three-hit game. Babasa holds longest hitting steak with ten games. Karli DalBianco and Malia Babasa have the most multi-RBI games with two games with two runs batted in. Katie Thornsberry has the longest on-base streak at 14 games.
 
NATIONALLY RANKED: Stan State is in the top 40 in NCAA Division II in several categories. As a team, they are 32^nd in sacrifice bunts (14), 10^th in double plays per game (0.61), and fifth in double plays (11). Victoria Alacron is 22^nd in complete games pitched with six and 20^th in shutouts with two.
 
CCAA RANKINGS: As a team, the Warriors are fourth in sacrifice bunts (14), fourth in strikeouts per seven innings (4.44), third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.93), tied for first in total double plays (11), and first in double plays per game (.61). Victoria Alarcon is fourth in strikeouts with 38. Bree Barner is fourth in shutouts with one, while Alarcon is third in shutouts with two. Barner is third in saves with one. Alarcon is second in complete games at six. Karli DalBianco is second in the conference in strikeouts per at bat with one strikeout in 60 at bats.
 
BABASA: Malia Babasa extended her hitting streak to 10 games this week, recording her first triple this season and as a Warrior, which is also her first extra base hit. Babasa's ability to reach base has credited Stan State, with her accounting for 11 of the team's 53 runs scored.
 
BARNER: Freshman pitcher Bree Barner recorded a 10-inning shutout in the final game of the four-game series between Stan State and Chico State. Barner trusted her defense to back her up, allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out two. She also went two-for-three at the plate, recording a sacrifice bunt to aid her offense.
 
DALBIANCO: Despite batting .283, Karli DalBianco continues to make contact with the ball. DalBianco has started all 18 of Stan State's games so far, recording 60 at bats. She has only struck out once and grounded into a double play once in all 60 at bats, also recording six walks, making her one of the toughest players to strikeout in the CCAA.
 
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO: The Coyotes (10-10, 4-4 CCAA) are batting .292 as a team and have a 3.56 earned run average. Four players are batting over .300 in Tereise Tosie (.507), Madison Zaro (.343), Diggy Olson (.333), and Bri Goris (.333). Tosi leads in multiple categories, with a .817 slugging percentage, .545 on-base percentage, 15 runs scored, 18 runs batted in, and five home runs while playing in all 20 games. Olson leads the team with four stolen bases. Samantha Vargas holds the lowest earned run average at 2.62, facing 228 batters. Brook Blackmon has the most strikeouts at 57 in 56.2 innings pitched. Blackmon has also recorded Cal State San Bernardino's only save.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: Cal State San Bernardino leads the all-time series, dating back to 2008, 41-27. Last season, the Coyotes and Warriors split the four games that they played in San Bernardino, Calif.
