Warriors Sit in First Place Heading into Tuesday’s Final Round of Hanny Stanislaus
MERCED, Calif.---- Stan State shot a two-round score of 12-under par 564 (288-276) in the first two rounds of the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational this afternoon at the par-72 Merced Golf & Country Club in Merced, Calif. With their 564, the Warriors sit in first place one stroke ahead of Cal State Monterey Bay (565, -11). Stan State's Jack Peters shot a nine-under par 135 (68-67) to sit in first place heading into tomorrow's final round at Turlock Golf & Country Club in Turlock, Calif. The final 18 holes will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
WARRIORS: Stan State had two groups playing in the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational that started today with the first 54-holes at the par-72 Merced Golf & Country Club in Merced, Calif. Leading the was Jack Peters with a nine-under par 135 (68-67). He sits in first place heading into tomorrow's final round. Seven strokes behind Peters is Chris Chomyn with his two-under par 142 (71-71). Chomyn is in a seven-way tie for 18th place. Nate Jetton is two strokes behind Chomyn with an even-par 144 (74-70), which places him in a four-way tie for 26th place. Ricky Sullivan is in a three-way tie for 35th place with his one-over par 145 (77-68). One stroke behind Sullivan is Chase Bird with his two-over par 146 (75-71), which places him in a seven-way tie for 41st place. With the Warriors' two-round score of 564 (288-766, Stan State are in first place heading into the final round.
The Warriors second group that was playing shot a 614 (313-301). Armaan Sahota is in a tie for 53rd place with a six-over par 150 (75-75). Two strokes behind Sahota is Rey Rosas with his eight-under par 152 (81-71) in a tie for
66th place. Sitting in 77th place is Bradley Olson with his eleven-over par 155. Drew Pritchard shot a 13-over par 157 (78-79) to place him in a tie for 79th place. Sitting in 83rd place is Ethan Gonsalves with a 163 (84-79). Playing as an individual is Justin Kim who shot a seven-over par 151 (78-73), which places him in a tie for 60th place.
TOP FIVE INDIVIDUALS: The Warriors' Jack Peters leads the tournament's field with his nine-under par 135. Two strokes behind Peters are David Sibbett (Western Washington), Ivan Sablan (Sonoma State), Naoki Easterday (Chico State) each with a seven-under par 137. Sitting in a three-way tie for fifth place each with a four-under par 138 are Ryan Calcagno (Cal State East Bay-Individual), Nick Ennis (Western Washington), and Adam Brangefalt (Cal State East Bay).
TOP FIVE TEAMS: Stan State leads the 15-team Hanny Stanislaus Invitational with a 12-under par 564. One stroke behind the Warriors is Cal State Monterey Bay in second place with its 11-under par 565. Sitting in third place is Cal State East Bay with a 10-under par 566. Western Washington shot a nine-under par 567 to sit in a tie for fourth place with Chico State.
EAGLES/BIRDIES/PARS: Nate Jetton, Ricky Sullivan, and Bradley Olson each recorded an eagle today for the Warriors. Jack Peters had 11 birdies to lead Stan State. Chris Chomyn had a team high 26 pars in the first two rounds for the tournament hosts followed by Justin Kim's 24 and Peters' 23. Nate Jetton and Chase Bird each had 22 pars followed by Armaan Sahota with 21 and Drew Pritchard with 20.
SENIOR DAY: After the conclusion of tomorrow awards' luncheon ceremony, Stan State will recognize its two seniors in Jack Peters and Drew Pritchard.
TEE-TIMES: Stan State's first group will be paired with Cal State East Bay, Western Washington, and Cal State Monterey Bay. They will start the tournament on holes one through five. The Warriors' second group will be paired with Dominican and Vanguard and individuals from Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, and Cal State San Bernardino. They will be hon holes 13 through 18. The final round will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
UP NEXT: After tomorrow's final round, Stan State will head to Santa Barbara, Calif., to participate in the 2025 CCAA Men's Golf Championships at the par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club, Monday-Wednesday, April 21-23.

Hernandez is third in the CCAA and sixth on the Warrior top ten list. He is third in the CCAA in the hammer.

The Warriors scored 15 of their 16 runs in the first five innings to key its win over the Pioneers. Flavio Perez had a five-hit game while Alex Solis drove in five runs including four on a grand slam home run. Danny Murphy also had five runs batted in for the victors. Quinn Oliver recorded the win in the start for the guests.
