Stan State Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 3 Nationally, Eighth Straight Week in Top 5, Remains No. 1 in West Region

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Stanislaus State men's soccer team continues to be recognized among the nation's best, checking in at No. 3 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Men's NCAA Division II national poll released Tuesday (Nov. 4). The Warriors, who held the No. 1 national ranking for two consecutive weeks in October, have now spent eight straight weeks ranked in the Top 5 nationally as they close out the regular season with an opportunity to capture their first-ever CCAA regular-season title.

Stanislaus State leads a strong West Region presence in the national poll, which also includes Cal State Dominguez Hills at No. 9, Point Loma Nazarene at No. 16, Cal State Los Angeles at No. 24, and Seattle Pacific receiving votes.

The Warriors also remain No. 1 in the West Region in the latest United Soccer Coaches regional poll (Nov. 4). The Warriors are followed by Cal State Dominguez Hills, Point Loma Nazarene, Cal State Los Angeles, and Seattle Pacific in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 are Cal State San Bernardino, Menlo, Western Oregon, Vanguard, and Hawai'i Hilo.

They continue to rank among the most balanced and efficient teams in the country, boasting one of Division II's stingiest defenses and most dynamic attacks. Offensively, Gerardo Flores, Emmanuel Duran, Sebastian Carbajal, Adrian Yepez, and Samuel Villanueva have powered a group that ranks among the national leaders in scoring, assists, and goal differential. Defensively, goalkeeper Angel Ruiz-Hernandez and the back line of Villanueva, Christian Brenes, Ian Reis, Federico Barbieri, David Lozano, and Ryan Rosas have combined for one of the nation's top goals-against averages and multiple shutouts this season.

Stanislaus State has clinched its first CCAA Tournament berth since 2015. The six-team championship begins Sunday, Nov. 9, at higher-seed sites, with the top two seeds earning byes to the semifinals and final Nov. 14–16 at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside, Calif., on the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay.

The second NCAA Division II Super Region 4 rankings will be released on Wednesday, Nov. 5, following last week's alphabetical listing. The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship Selection Show is set for November 17 at 7
p.m. PT on www.ncaa.com.

The complete United Soccer Coaches Men's NCAA Division II national poll is available at unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings.

Stanislaus State will wrap up its regular season on Thursday, Nov. 6, hosting UC Merced at 11:30 a.m. at Warrior Stadium, live on FloCollege. If Stan State wins and Cal State Dominguez Hills loses or ties at Cal State East Bay, the Warriors will capture their first-ever CCAA regular-season championship.
