Stanislaus State Men’s Golf Heads to Western Washington Invitational

Turlock, Calif. — The Stanislaus State Warriors men's golf team will continue its 2025-26 fall campaign next week, teeing off at the Western Washington University Invitational, hosted at Bellingham Golf & Country Club in Bellingham, Wash. The event is slated for September 29–30, featuring 54 holes (36 on day one, 18 on day two) with shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. each morning.

Building Momentum from Wildcat Classic
The Warriors opened their season at the Wildcat Classic (Chico State) on September 15–16, competing in a strong multi-regional field. Sophomore transfer Riley Kirk led the way for Stan State with a three-round total of 209 (−7), tying for 10th overall in his first tournament as a Warrior. He opened with back-to-back 69s before closing with a 71.

As a team, Stan State finished 8th with a total of 860 (−4), recording rounds of 288 (E), 286 (−2), and 286 (−2). The Wildcat Classic offered valuable competition and a benchmark for the squad as it works to build chemistry heading into the invitational season.

The Field & Competition
The final field for the WWU Invitational includes CSU Monterey Bay, Hawai'i Pacific, Hawai'i Hilo, Saint Martin's, Simon Fraser, Western Washington, Stanislaus State, Jessup, and the University of British Columbia. This diverse field brings together top NCAA Division II programs from the West Coast and Pacific region, along with perennial Canadian power UBC.

Warriors' Lineup
Representing Stanislaus State in Bellingham will be Riley Kirk, Ricky Sullivan, Carson Diaz, Owen Bascom, and Chase Bird.

Up Next
After the WWU Invitational, Stan State will travel to Nevada for the National Preview at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Oct. 6–7. The Warriors will then conclude their fall schedule in Seaside, Calif., Oct. 13–14 at the Otter Invitational, hosted at Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Course.
