Men’s Golf Finishes in Fifth at 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invite
TURLOCK, Calif.---- Stan State shot a three-round score of two-under par 862 to finish in fifth place at the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational. Jack Peters led the way for Stan State with his five-under par 211, which placed him in a three-way tie for seventh place. Western Washington's David Sibbett was the individual medalist with a 12-under par 204. Cal State Monterey Bay captured the team title with a three-round score of 846 (-18) followed by Chico State with a 16-under par 848 and Western Washington with a 14-under par 850. The first two-rounds were played at Merced Golf & Country Club in Merced, Calif., while the today's final round was played in Turlock, Calif., at Turlock Golf & Country Club.
WARRIORS: Stan State had two groups that played in the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational that started yesterday with the first 54-holes at the par-72 Merced Golf & Country Club in Merced, Calif. The final round took place today at the par-72 Turlock Golf & Country Club in Turlock, Calif. As a team, the Warriors finished in fifth place with their two-under par 864 (288-276-298) at the 15-team invitational.
Leading the Warriors' first group was Jack Peters with his five-under par 211 (68-67-76) which placed him in a three-way tie for seventh place. Finishing in a four-way tie for 25th place was Ricky Sullivan with an even-par score of 216 (77-68-71). Two strokes behind Sullivan was Chris Chomyn with his two-over par 218 (71-71-76). Chomyn finished in a five-way tie for 32nd place. Nate Jetton finished in a five-way tie for 39th place with his four-over par 220 (74-70-76). Chase Bird shot a five-over par 221 (75-71-75) to finish in a tie for 44th place.
The Warriors second group finished in 15th place with 917 (313-301-303). Bradley Olson shot a nine-over par 225 to finish in a tie for 55th place. Armaan Sahota finished in 63rd place with a 12-over par 228 followed by Rey Rosas' 13-over par 229, which placed him in a five-way tie for 65th place. Drew Pritchard finished in a tie for 76th place with ahis 19-overa par 235 followed by Ethan Gonsalves (84th, 247).
TOP FIVE INDIVIDUALS: Western Washington's David Sibbett was the individual medalist with his 12-under par 204 (67-70-67). Three strokes behind Sibbett was Chico State's Naoki Easterday with a nine-under par 207 (68-69-70). Finishing in third place with his eight-under par 208 (69-72-67). Sonoma State's Ivan Sablan finished in fourth place with his seven-under par 209 followed by Cal State Monterey Bay's Wilhelm Berg Von Linde in fifth place with a six-under par 210.
TOP FIVE TEAMS: Cal State Monterey Bay shot an 18-under par 846 (286-279-281) to capture the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational. Two strokes behind the Otters with a 16-under par 848 (287-280-281) was Chico State in second place. Western Washington shot a 14-under par 850 (276-291-283) in third place. Cal State East Bay shot an eight-under par 856 (280-286-290) in fourth place. Stan State finished in fifth place with its two-under par 862 ( 288-276-298).
EAGLES/BIRDIES/PARS: Nate Jetton, Ricky Sullivan, and Bradley Olson each recorded an eagle during the three days for the Warriors. Jack Peters had 15 birdies to lead Stan State followed by Chase Bird with 12 birdies and Nate Jetton with ten. Peters led the Warriors with his 33 pars followed by Chris Chomyn's 32 and Armaan Sahota with 31. Drew Pritchard had 29 and Jetton recorded 28.
SENIOR DAY: After the conclusion of the awards' luncheon ceremony, Stan State recognized its two seniors in Jack Peters and Drew Pritchard.
UP NEXT: Stan State will head to Santa Barbara, Calif., to participate in the 2025 CCAA Men's Golf Championships at the par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club, Monday-Wednesday, April 21-23.

Hernandez is third in the CCAA and sixth on the Warrior top ten list. He is third in the CCAA in the hammer.

Quinn Oliver recorded the win in the start for the guests.
