TRACK AND FIELD'S NAMED STAN STATE DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE OUTSTANDING STUDENT AWARD
Stan State track and field student-athlete Lamont Lane has been named the Stanislaus State Criminal Justice Department's Most Outstanding Student Award recipient for the 2024-25 Academic Year. TRIO OF WARRIORS RECORD NCAA PROVISIONAL TIMES
At this past weekend's West Coast Relays in Clovis, Calif., three Stan State track and field student-athletes provisionally qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo., in May. Trent Lauderdale captured the 400-hurdles with his time of 51.21. That time is the fastest time in the nation and third fastest in school history. Mila Real captured the 400-hurdles with her winning time of 1:01.27. Real's time is the second fastest time in school history and 18th fastest in the nation. Annie Wild finished second in the 800-meter run with her time of 2:10.37, which is the seventh fastest in the Warrior top ten and 16th in the nation. The 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted by Colorado State Pueblo, May 22-24.
MEN'S GOLF FIFTH IN THE NCAA DII WEST REGION
The Warrior men's golf team is fifth in the NCAA Division II West Regional rankings that were released this past Friday by the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Committee. Stan State is one of seven teams from the CCAA ranked in the top 11 in the second poll of the season. The next regional rankings will be released Friday, April 11. The selections for the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships will be Friday, April 25 on www.ncaa.com. Stan State returns to the course, April 14-15, when the Warriors host the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational. The first 36 holes will be played at the Merced Golf & Country Club in Merced, Calif., April 14. The final 18 holes will be hosted at the Turlock Golf & Country Club in Turlock, Calif., April 15.
WOMENS' TENNIS FIFTH IN FIRST PACWEST WOMEN'S TENNIS RANKINGS
Stan State is fifth in the first PacWest Women's Tennis rankings of the 2025 season. The next rankings will be released April 2 with the selection for the PacWest Tournament being announced, April 7. The 2025 PacWest Championships will be held April 16-19 in Surprise, Ariz., at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club. The top twelve teams will advance from the women's seeding list to the tournament field. Stan State lost 4-2 at Menlo on Saturday. Victors for the Warriors were Parker Orlando (6-1, 6-1). Stan State took the doubles' point with Alyssa Tay/Nicollet Alexander (6-3) and Abbigail Mulick/Parker Orlando (6-3) victorious. The Warriors will travel to Rocklin, Calif., to face Jessup, April 5.
WARRIORS RECORD EIGHT TOP TWO FINISHES AT WEST COAST RELAYS
Stan State men's and women's track and field posted eight top two finishes at the West Coast Relays in Clovis, Calif., this past Saturday. Mila Real captured the 400-hurdles with her NCAA Division ii provisional time of 1:02.27. Yahaira Zuniga captured the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:23.90. Trent Lauderdale won the 400-hurdles with his first-place and NCAA provisional time of 51.21. Lauderdale was part of the 4x400 relay team with Levi Gardner, Jemar Armstrong, and Dillon Carolina to win the relay with a time of 3:16.27. Annie Wild finished in second in the 800-meter run with her NCAA provisional time of 2:10.37. Finishing second in the 1500-meter run was Tessa Vasquez (4:35.08). Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva was second in the 5000-meter run (17:43.42) and Jackson Oliveira ran a 14:33.60 to finish second in the men's 5000. Eris Hutchins, Jaheim Williams, Jaevin Sawyer and Lauderdale ran a 41.68 to finish second in the 4x100.
SOFTBALL BACK HOME TO FACE SONOMA STATE, APRIL 4-5
Stan State will host Sonoma State this Friday-Saturday, April 4-5 in a four-game series. The series will begin this Friday with a 1:00 p.m. starting doubleheader. The two teams will conclude the series this Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. starting doubleheader. Stan State is 10-20 overall and 7-11 in the CCAA after going 1-3 at No. 14 Cal State East Bay this weekend in Hayward, Calif. The Warriors took the second game of the series, 5-2. Malia Babasa leads the team with her .371 batting average, 18 runs scored, 36 hits, and five stolen bases. Karli DalBianco has driven in a team leading 15 runs and has a team high six doubles, two home runs, and .473 slugging percentage. Victoria Alarcon has a team low 3.13 earned run average to go with her five victories and 50 strikeouts.
BASEBALL TRAVELS TO POMONA FOR FOUR-GAME SERIES AT CPP, APRIL 4-6
The Warriors will return to Southern California for a four-game series at Cal Poly Pomona, April 4-6. The two teams will play a 6:00 p.m. game on Friday, a 2:00 p.m. starting doubleheader on Saturday, and finish the series at noon on Sunday. Stan State enters the weekend, 11-17 and 6-12 in the CCAA. Ryan Leonesio leads Stan State with his .357 batting average. Arthur Navarette Jr., has driven in a team leading 18 runs and Alex Solis has scored a team high 18 runs. Solis leads the team with his .476 slugging percentage. Flavio Perez and Solis are tied for the team lead with 10 doubles. They are tied along with JD Madrigal and Navarette for the team lead in home runs with three. Robert Valdivia has a team high triples and Jacob Baker has a team high eight stolen bases. Noah Chelberg has a team low 3.26 earned run average and Zach Geiss has a team leading three victories. Gurrola leas Stan State with his 30 strikeouts.
TRIO OF WARRIORS NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM
Three members of the Stan State men's and women's basketball teams were named to the Academic All-District Teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators. These three were Jason Cibull, Jeremiah Jones, and Alyssa Premo. This is the third time that Jones was named to the Academic All-District Team and first time for Cibull and Premo. Stan State has eleven student-athletes that been named to their respective Academic All-District Teams.

This week's Stan State Warrior Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by KW Recovery Lab, are a pair of pair of Stan State track and field hurdlers in Trent Lauderdale and Mila Real.
Real captured the 400 hurdles with her winning time of 1:01.27 at the West Coast Relays. That time is the second fastest in the CCAA and she provisionally qualified for the 2025 NCAA DII Nationals. She is 18th in the nation in the 400 hurdles. Real finished 12th in the 100 hurdles (15.32) and was part of the 4x100 relay team that finished sixth at the Relays. That is the third fastest in the CCAA.
Lauderdale ran a first-place time of 51.21 at the West Coast Relays to capture the 400-hurdles on Saturday. That is the fastest time in the nation and in the CCAA. The senior moves into third on Stan State's top ten list in the 400-hurdles. He was a part of the 4x100 relay team that finished second with a time of 41.69. Lauderdale was part of the first place 4x400 relay team that ran a 3:16.27. Those times are third and fourth respectively in the CCAA.
