Stan State Women’s Cross Country Ranked No. 1 in West Region for Third Straight Week
NEW ORLEANS--- For the third straight week, the Stanislaus State women's cross country team holds the No. 1 spot in the West Regional rankings, maintaining its top position in the USTFCCCA Division II poll. The Warriors are also ranked No. 16 in the nation, with updated national rankings set to be released by the USTFCCCA tomorrow morning.
Stanislaus State is coming off an impressive performance at the UC Riverside Invitational, placing second overall in a 24-team field loaded with Division I programs. The Warriors were the top Division II team at the meet, highlighted by Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva's third-place finish and Annie Wild's fifth-place effort, as the squad also defeated several Division I teams, including UC Irvine, Sacramento State, Cal Baptist, and Southern Utah.
The Warriors continue to lead a strong California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) showing, with Chico State ranked second and Cal Poly Pomona third, giving the conference a sweep of the top three spots. Biola (Calif.) of the PacWest rose to fourth, followed by Western Washington in fifth. CUI jumped to sixth, Simon Fraser stayed seventh, and Point Loma Nazarene dropped to eighth. Alaska Anchorage and Northwest Nazarene entered the poll this week at ninth and tenth, respectively.
Looking ahead, Stanislaus State will return to action on Friday, October 10, at the SF State Invitational in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m. and will serve as the Warriors' final tune-up before the CCAA Championships on October 24 in Chico, California, at Bidwell Park.
The 2025 NCAA Division II West Regional Championships are set for Saturday, November 8, at 11:15 a.m. at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon, hosted by Western Oregon. Teams and individuals advancing from the regional will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday, November 22, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

- Bascom Cards Top-20 Finish at WWU InvitationalStanislaus State men's golf closed out the Western Washington University Invitational on Tuesday at Bellingham Golf & Country Club, finishing 13th in the 14-team field. Owen Bascom led the Warriors with his two-over 218 to finish in a four-way tie for 17th place.
