Stan State Falls in Game One; Game Two Suspended Until Tomorrow
ARCATA, Calif.--- Stan State traveled to Cal Poly Humboldt, playing the first of their doubleheaders this morning. Game two was suspended due to weather, so only game one was played today. The Warriors fell 9-1 in six innings.
GAME 1: For the first two and a half innings, both pitchers only faced four batters at most. Cal Poly Humboldt (26-22, 15-18 CCAA) made the first offensive strike in the bottom of the third, putting up three runs with four singles, a stolen base, an error, and hit by pitch. They added two more in the bottom of the fourth with a single, stolen base, and an error.
Sydney Davis got the Warriors (13-30, 8-23 CCAA) started in the top of the fifth with a lead-off single. Moxie Barton reached on a fielder's choice, causing Davis to be out at second. Katie Thornsberry grounded out, allowing Barton to move to second. Malia Babasa got a two-out single, allowing Moxie Barton to score to put the Warriors on the board.
The Lumberjacks retaliated in the bottom of the inning, putting up two runs with two singles, stolen base, and a double. They added runs in the bottom of the sixth, with two walks, a double steal, an error, a sacrifice bunt, and a sacrifice fly to end the game after six.
OFFENSIVE COMBINATION: Malia Babasa, Sydney Davis, and Sasha Martello combined for the Warriors' four hits. Moxie Barton reached on a fielder's choice to score Stan State's lone run, brought in by a single by Babasa.
BABASA: Malia Babasa hit two of the Warriors' four hits to go two-for-three with a run batted in. Babasa is now at 14 multi-hit games, recording 11 games with two hits this season.
GAME 2: Due to weather, game two was suspended in the in the bottom of the first with the Lumberjacks up 1-0 with two outs and two runners on. It will be the first game played tomorrow.
UP NEXT: Stan State plays the second game of today's doubleheader to begin the day tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. They will play the second doubleheader and final games of the regular season tomorrow, beginning at the conclusion of the suspended game.

There will be prelims ran in the 200-meters and 800-meters as well as the women's 100-hurdles and men's 110-hurdles.The final day will be Saturday which will commence at 11:00 a.m. There will be finals in all events finishing with the 4x400 relays at around 4:55 p.m. The awards presentations will begin around 5:30 p.m.
