Stan State Duo of Jeremiah Jones and Daniel Ameyaw Named to 2024-25 All-CCAA Men’s Basketball Team
SAN MARCOS, Calif.--- As announced this evening by the office of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Stan State men's basketball players Jeremiah Jones and Daniel Ameyaw were named to the 2024-25 All-CCAA Men's Basketball Team as voted on by the head coaches of the 12-team conference.
Jones was a First Team selection. The senior guard averaged 18.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season for the Warriors. He shot 46.2% from the field and 88.4% from the charity stripe. The Vacaville native made 36 threes this season. He scored in double digits in all 27 games he played in this season including 20 or more points ten times this season. Jones had a 1.5 assist to turnover ratio.
This season, he had season highs of 33 points versus Western Oregon (Nov. 15, 2024), eight rebounds at Cal State Dominguez Hills (Dec. 7, 2024), six assists (twice), and three steals (three times). Earlier this season, he was named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance the weekend of Nov. 15-16 in Stan State's two victories in Rohnert Park, Calif., over Western Oregon and Hawai'i Pacific.
Jones finished the regular season in the top ten in the CCAA in five individual categories. He was first in free throw percentage, fourth in scoring, tied for fifth in assist/turnover ratio, seventh in field goal percentage, and eighth in assists/game. Jones is currently 27th in the nation in NCAA Division II in free throw percentage.
Ameyaw was an Honorable Mention honoree. He started in all but two of the 28 games he played in this season. The junior post player averaged 9.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He shot 49.2% from the field while dishing out 33 assists, recording 12 steals, and blocking ten shots.
The Accra, Ghana, native, had four double doubles this season against Cal State Monterey Bay (16 points, 11 rebounds), Cal State East Bay (12 points, 10 rebounds), Chico State (12 points, 11 rebounds), and Cal State Dominguez Hills (12 points, 13 rebounds). He finished the regular season third in the CCAA in rebounding average.
He had season highs of 21 points versus UC Merced (Nov. 23, 2024), 13 rebounds versus Cal State Dominguez Hills (Feb. 13, 2025), four assists versus Cal State Los Angeles (Feb. 15, 2025), two blocked shots (twice), and one steal (12 times).
This is the first time that both Jones and Ameyaw have been named to the All-CCAA Team during their careers.
The individual CCAA awards went to Chico State's JoJo Murphy (Player of the Year), Cal State Dominguez Hills' Jordan Hillstock (Defensive Player of the Year), Sonoma State's Chris Holley (Newcomer of the Year), Cal Poly Humboldt's Aidan Fowler (Freshman of the Year), and Cal State Dominguez Hills' Steve Becker (Coach of the Year).
