50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invite Highlights Spring Schedule for Warriors
TURLOCK, Calif.--- The 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational highlights the 2024 Stan State Men's Golf Spring Schedule for the Warriors. This year's Hanny Stanislaus Invitational will be hosted at the Turlock Golf & Country Club in Turlock, Calif., April 14-15. Stan State will participate in six invitationals prior to competing in the 2025 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Golf Championships, April 21-23, at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The Warriors will be looking to receive its fifth consecutive bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, which begin with the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional, May 8-10, at The Victoria Club in Riverside, Calif.
Stan State will begin its Spring Season at the Fujikura Invitational, February 10-11, at The Shadowbridge Golf Club in Vista, Calif. Two weeks later, the Warriors will travel to Borrego Springs, Calif., to participate in the three-day Battle in the Desert at the Rams Hills Golf Course in Borrego Springs, Calif., February 24-26.
The Warriors will return to the links in the Bay Area as they will participate in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, March 10-11, at Corica Park in Alameda, Calif. Twelve days later, Stan State will return to the course for two invitationals in Arizona. They will golf in the Spring Break Arizona Invitational #1, March 22-23, at The Verrado Golf Club in Buckey, Ariz. The next two days, March 24-25, Stan State will compete in the Spring Break Arizona Invitational #2, at The Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz. The Warriors will come home for their final invitational of the Spring, April 14-15, to compete in the 50th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at the Turlock Golf & Country Club in Turlock, Calif. After the conclusion of the invitational, Stan State will recognize its two seniors in Jack Peters and Drew Pritchard.
The 2025 CCAA Championships are set for April 21-23 at The Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The field for the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship Field will be announced on www.ncaa.com on April 25, 2025. The NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional will take place May 8-10, 2025, at The Victoria Club in Riverside, Calif. This year's NCAA Division II National Championships will be hosted in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at the PGA National Resort May 19-23.
RANKED REGIONALLY/NATIONALLY: As a team, Stan State is ranked sixth in the West Region and 46th nationally according to the SCOREBOARD powered by clippd rankings. Chris Chomyn is ranked fifth regionally and 42nd nationally as an individual.
FALL SEASON: Stan State finished its fall season strong with a third-place finish at the 19-team Southwest Airlines/HPU Shark Shootout with a two-round score of 547. Chris Chomyn led the way with a six-under par 134 to finish in third place. Finishing two strokes behind Chomyn was Ricky Sullivan with his four-under par 136 to finish tied for ninth place.
ALL-REGION/ALL-AMERICAN: Last Spring, Chris Chomyn was named the Warriors' 54th NCAA Division II/PING All-American for his performance during the 2023-24 season. Earlier in the Spring, Chomyn and Nate Jetton were
named to the 2024 NCA Division II PING All-West Region Team.
CCAA HONORS: Chris Chomyn was named to the 2024 CCAA Men's Golf Championships All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive season for placing in the top five with his five-under par 211 to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place. Chomyn and Nate Jetton were named to the All-CCAA First Team. This was the first time that Chomyn received this honor and second time for Jetton during their collegiate careers at Stan State.

This will be the first of 19 matches for the Warriors as they look to qualify for the 2025 PacWest Championships April 15-19 in Surprise, Arizona.
- CSUSB Uses Late Second Half Run to Key Win Over WarriorsSAN BERNARDINO, Calif.--- Stan State was leading the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes 40-39 with 8:33 left in regulation, but the Coyotes went on a 13-0 run in the next two minutes to take a 52-40 lead and held on for the 65-52 victory at CSUSB's Coussoulis Arena this evening. The trio of Daniel Ameyaw, Lloyd French, and Jeremiah Jones each scored 12 points to lead the way for the Warriors.
- Warriors Drop Game Versus CoyotesThe Warriors traveled to Cal State San Bernardino this evening, falling 66-47. Stan State was lead in scoring by Daja Scott-Mitchell with 19 points, who added 16 rebounds for a double-double.

- Over Half of the Stan State Student-Athlete Body Named to the Department of Athletics’ Honor RollOne hundred fifty-two State Warrior student-athletes were named to the Fall 2024 Department of Athletics Honor Roll for posting at least a 3.25 or higher grade point average during the Fall Term as announced this week. Of those 152 student-athletes, twenty-four Warriors posted a 4.0 grade point average this Fall Semester. Sixteen Stan State Warrior Cheerleaders posted a 3.25 or higher grade point average including two with a 4.0 grade point average. Stan State's Department of Athletics' grade point average as a department was 3.271.
