Stanislaus State Men’s Soccer Announces 2025 Schedule Featuring Key Regional Clashes and CCAA Action
TURLOCK, Calif. — Third-year head coach John Powell has unveiled the 2025 Stanislaus State men's soccer schedule, highlighted by a slate of high-profile regional match-ups and a full slate of CCAA contests. The Warriors will open the season at home with a pair of pivotal West Region showdowns under the lights at Warrior Stadium.
Stanislaus State kicks off the new campaign on Thursday, September 4, hosting Seattle Pacific at 7:30 p.m. Two days later, the Warriors will take on Western Washington on Saturday, September 6 at 7 p.m. The Vikings finished second in the GNAC in 2024 with a 10-5-3 record.
Coming off their first winning season since 2015 (7-6-5 overall, 3-4-4 CCAA), the Warriors return 14 players, including two All-CCAA selections Angel Ruiz-Hernandez, Sammy Villanueva, along with Adrian Yepez. Villanueva earned All-CCAA honors for the second straight year after starting all 18 matches and scoring two goals. Yepez contributed three goals including two game-winners and an assist in his debut season. Ruiz-Hernandez posted six shutouts and a 1.19 goals-against average, including a standout seven-save performance against then-No. 2 Cal State LA.
The Warriors will then embark on a two-match road swing in the Pacific Northwest, facing Simon Fraser in Burnaby, B.C., on September 11 at 5:00 p.m., followed by Saint Martin's in Lacey, Wash., on September 13 at 1:00 p.m.
Non-conference play concludes with two match-ups against PacWest opponents. Stan State hosts Menlo College on September 18 at 7:00 p.m. a program transitioning from NAIA to NCAA Division II before visiting Dominican
University on September 20 in San Rafael at 3:30 p.m. The Warriors will return from a 13-day break to open CCAA play at home, hosting Cal State East Bay on October 3 at 4:30 p.m. and Cal State Los Angeles on October 5 at 11:30 a.m.
A three-match road trip follows, with visits to Cal State San Bernardino (October 10), Cal Poly Pomona (October 12), and Cal Poly Humboldt (October 17). Pomona was one of three CCAA schools (Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State Los Angeles) to reach the NCAA Division II tournament in 2024.
Stan State then hosts Cal State San Marcos on October 19 for Senior Day at 2:00 p.m., followed by a rivalry match against Chico State on October 24 at 4:30 p.m.
The final road stretch includes games at Cal State Monterey Bay (October 26) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (October 31) under the lights in Carson. The regular season concludes at home against new CCAA member UC Merced on November 6 at 11:30 a.m. The Bobcats finished their last year in NAIA capturing the CalPac Tournament Championship and finishing with a 12-1-3 record.
The CCAA Championships begin November 9 with first-round games at higher-seeded campuses. The top two teams in the regular-season standings earn first-round byes. Semifinals and the championship will take place November 14 and 16 at Cardinale Stadium on the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay.
The NCAA Division II Tournament begins November 21–23, with the semifinals and national championship set for December 11 and 13 at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, Colo.
