Stan State’s Annie Wild Heading to Indoor Nationals as Number One Ranked Miler

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.---  As announced this afternoon by the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships Committee, Stan State's Annie Wild will be heading to the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships, March 13-15.  Wild will be competing in the mile prelims on Thursday, March 13 at 1:55 p.m. (PT).  This year's championships will take place at Indiana Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Ind.

The finals of the mile will take place Saturday, March 15 at 12:25 p.m. (PT). 

"We are excited that Annie (Wild) has the opportunity that she has in front of her of representing Stanislaus State at the highest level of competition at Division II," said Stan State head coach Troy Johnson.  "We are very excited to have her being the number ranked student-athlete in the mile which is the highest ever ranked by a Warrior female student-athlete.  This is a testament to her hard work and dedication.  Special thanks to Coach (Darren) Holman and (Courtney) Heiner for their selfless support of all of our student-athletes in preparing them for Nationals."

Wild's fastest time this indoor season was at the 2025 Last Chance Indoor National Qualifier at Boston University this past Sunday, March 2 in Boston, Mass.  The sophomore runner ran a time of 4:39.92 which broke the school record and moved her into first place on the NCAA Division II performance list.

Besides her mile time, Wild ran a season best time of 4:20.70 in the 1500-meter run at the Last Chance Indoor National Qualifier in Boston this Sunday. Earlier this season, she ran a 2:10.34 in the 800-meter run which is the third fastest time in school history.  Wild was part of the Warrior Distance Medley Relay Team with Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva, Mila Real, and Crystal Hernandez that ran 11:40.49 which is the second fastest time in school history.
