Turlock Native and Former Warrior Cameron Walker Shines in Professional Debut in Armenia

TURLOCK, Calif. — Former Stanislaus State men's basketball player and Turlock native Cameron Walker made an impressive professional debut overseas, scoring 29 points, grabbing three rebounds, and handing out two assists for Hatis Yerevan in the Armenia Basketball League A.

Walker, who played for the Warriors during the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons, was known for his leadership, playmaking ability, and defensive energy. A versatile guard, he appeared in 53 career games at Stanislaus State, starting 40. Over two seasons, Walker averaged 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 35.0 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from three-point range, and 72.5 percent from the free-throw line.

During his collegiate career, Walker was also recognized for his work in the classroom, earning a place on the NABC Honors Court.

In his 2024–25 senior season, Walker started 24 of 25 games and averaged 7.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 26.6 minutes per game. He posted a season-high 21 points on 9-for-15 shooting against Western Oregon on November 15, hit a career-best five three-pointers versus Cal State Dominguez Hills on February 13, and grabbed eight rebounds against San Francisco State on February 1. He also tallied five assists at Sonoma State (Feb. 22), two blocks at Cal State San Marcos (Feb. 20), and three steals against Fresno Pacific (Nov. 8).

In 2023–24, Walker appeared in 28 games and made 16 starts, scoring a then-career-high 12 points with four three-pointers against Cal State Dominguez Hills on February 3 and grabbing six rebounds with nine points at Cal State San Marcos.

Before joining Stan State, Walker was a standout at Porterville College, where he was a two-time team captain, a 2021–22 First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Conference Defense selection and helped lead the Pirates to a 37–21 record. He totaled 230 assists in two seasons and earned Signal The Light Honorable Mention honors.

A four-year letterwinner at Turlock High School, Walker was a three-time team captain, two-time team MVP, and 1,000-point scorer who graduated as the school's second all-time leading scorer. The two-time All-District honoree and All-State nominee averaged 13.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game as a Bulldog.

Now competing in Armenia's top professional basketball league, Walker is part of a Hatis Yerevan roster that features both domestic and international talent. His early success overseas highlights the continued achievements of former Warriors competing at the next level.
