Men’s Basketball Picked Seventh in CCAA Preseason Poll Ahead of 2025–26 Season
TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stanislaus State men's basketball team, led by ninth-year head coach Paul Trevor, is gearing up for the 2025–26 season — a competitive slate featuring non-conference tests, CCAA battles, and postseason opportunities — as the Warriors were picked seventh in this year's CCAA Preseason Coaches' Poll released Wednesday.
Reigning champion Cal State Dominguez Hills earned 11 of 12 first-place votes (141 points) to top the poll, followed by Cal Poly Pomona (119) and Cal State San Bernardino (117). Chico State (108), Cal State LA (96, one first-place vote), and Cal State East Bay (91) rounded out the top six, just ahead of the Warriors (71).

The Warriors open Nov. 14–15 at the Pioneer Challenge hosted by Cal State East Bay, facing Jessup and Fresno Pacific. Stan State then visits Menlo (Nov. 19) and Dominican (Nov. 22) before its home debut Nov. 26 vs. Saint Martin's and another home game Nov. 29 vs. Cal Maritime. CCAA play begins Dec. 4 at Cal Poly Humboldt and Dec. 6 at Chico State.
Returning All-CCAA forward Daniel Ameyaw (9.0 ppg, 7.4 rpg) leads a veteran core that includes shooters Jason Cibull and Jason Zimmer, along with Lloyd French and Jordan Smith. The Warriors also feature a deep group of newcomers who will add depth and versatility to this year's lineup.
All home games will be played at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock, with live coverage on FloCollege and BlueChip Broadcasting. All Warrior home games will also be broadcast on BlueChip Broadcasting with Bryan Nelson calling the play-by-play. In addition, away games at the Pioneer Challenge along with non-conference games at Menlo and Dominican will also be broadcast on BlueChip Broadcasting.
The CCAA Tournament is set for March 5–7 at Cal Poly Pomona, followed by the NCAA West Regionals (March 13–17). The NCAA Elite Eight will take place March 25–27 in Pittsburgh, Pa., with the Division II National Championship scheduled for April 5 in Indianapolis, Ind.
