Three Stan State Athletic Training Student Interns Have Been Accepted into Master’s in Athletic Training Programs at Fresno State and the University of the Pacific
TURLOCK, Calif.-- Three Stan State Athletic Training Student Interns which have all been accepted into Masters in Athletic Training Programs either at Fresno State University and the University of the Pacific. Cole Bailey and Nate Mendoza will be continuing their education at Fresno State University. Jordan Torres will be continuing her education at the University of the Pacific.
"We are all very proud of Jordan (Torres), Nate (Mendoza), and Cole (Bailey)," said Stanislaus State Athletic Trainer Brashit Tarmani. "They worked very hard to achieve their goal and we have no doubt that they'll become great certified athletic trainers the near future. "We as a staff are very fortunate for such an amazing group of student interns. We had eight student interns this semester that we were able to mentor and provide hands on experience to. Our staff plans to continue to grow the student internship program and help guide future certified athletic trainers."
Jordan Torres
Jordan Torres went to Modesto Junior College and completed internship hours with their athletic training staff before transferring to Stanislaus State. She started her internship hours with Stan State's athletic training staff in Spring 2023 and has over 300 internship hours. Torres recently got accepted into the Master's in Athletic Training Program at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., and will be starting this Fall 2025.
"My two years with Stan State's Athletic Training Program has been nothing short of amazing," said Torres. "I believe that the experience, knowledge, and support, I was fortunate to receive from Brashit (Tarmani), Elizabeth (Melo), Gary (Hogan), and Maggie (Gregg) will have a huge influence on the athletic trainer that I plant to become."

"My time with the Stan State Athletic Training Program has been an incredible experience," noted Mendoza. "The hands-on learning and opportunity through my observation hours really helped me grow professionally and ultimately get accepted into my dream Master's in Athletic Training Program at Fresno State. I'm proud to have been a part of this amazing team of people at Stan State."
Nate Mendoza and Cole Bailey both started interning with the Warrior Athletic Training Staff in Fall 2024. They each have over 150 internship hours with the program. Both Mendoza and Bailey were each recently accepted into Fresno State's Master's in Athletic Training Program which also starts this Fall 2025. Besides being an intern for the Stan State Athletic Trainers, Bailey is a thrower for the Warriors men's track and field team.
"I've absolutely loved my time working in the Athletic Training room here at Stanislaus State," stated Bailey. "Through this experience, I have been able to establish special relationships with fellow athletic trainers and athletes while confirming my career decision and preparing for Fresno State's Master's in Athletic Training Program."
This is the first time since 2015 that the Stan State Athletic Training Staff had three or more interns get into a Master's in Athletic Training Program. In 2015 one of those were Brashit Tarmani, who was accepted into the program at California Baptist University and his now on the Warriors' staff.
