Warriors’ Chris Chomyn Named Two-Time Recipient of the 2025 NCAA Division II PING All-West Region Team
NORMAN, Okla.--- As announced this morning by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), Stan State's Chris Chomyn was named to 2025 NCAA Division II PING All-West Region Team. This is the second year in a row that Chomyn has earned this prestigious honor.
In mid-April, Chomyn, who was named to the All-CCAA First Team, had a 72.2 average in his 30 rounds of golf this 2024-25 academic year. He recorded five top ten finishes including tying for medalist honors at the Battle in the Desert Invite, February 24-26, in Borrego Springs, Calif., at the par-72 Rams Hill Golf Club. The senior golfer had a nine-under par 207 to tie for first place with teammate, Jack Peters. He placed third at the Southwest/HPU Sharks Shootout, October 26, when he shot a six-under par 138 in the 54-hole tournament.
At this year's CCAA Championships, Chomyn shot a one-over par 217 to finish in a tie for fourth place at the par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif. By placing in the top five, Chomyn was named to the All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year. Last week, at the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regionals at the par-72 Victoria Golf Club in Riverside, Calif., Chomyn shot a five-round score of 221.
Chomyn is the second Warrior golfer in the last three years to earn this honor in back-to-back years. Nate Jetton received this honor in 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Last season, Chomyn was named to the 2024 NCAA Division II PING All-American Honorable Mention Team to become the 54th All-American in Stan State Men's Golf history.
