Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for Sixth Led By Jetton’s Tenth Place Finish

ALAMEDA, Calif.--- Stan State shot a nine-over par 297 this morning to finish the three-round Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout with a two-over par 866 (282-287-297) at the par-72 Corica South Course in Alameda, Calif.  The Warriors finish in tie for sixth place with Western Washington.  Nate Jetton finished in a three-way tie for tenth place with a five-under par 211 (67-70-74).
 
TOP TEAMS:  Western New Mexico captured the team title with a 28-under par 836 (282-272-282).  The Mustangs had four of the top-20 finishers at the Shootout.  Finishing in second place was the hosts, Cal State East Bay Pioneers, with a 12-under par 852 followed by Chico State with a nine-under par 855.  Rounding out the top five were Cal State San Marcos (858) and Sonoma State (863).
 
TOP INDIVIDUALS:  Hawai'i Pacific's Shion Suzuki captured individual medalist honors with an eight-under par 205 (66-71-68) followed by Western New Mexico's duo of Arnav Arkanath (206) and Adam Niiles (208).  Finishing in a tie for fourth place was Chico State's Tyler Ashman and Cal State San Marcos' Patrick Jaksch each with a 209.  Cal State East Bay's Adam Brangefait, Chico State's Naoki Easerday, and the Santa Clara duo of Joey Hayden and Cameron Kaiser tied for sixth place each with a 210.  Rounding out the top ten was the trio of Stan State's Nate Jetton, Sonoma State's Lucas Happy, and Cal State San Marcos' Gavin McCormick each with a 211.  
 
WARRIORS:  Nate Jetton led Stan State with his five-under par 211 (67-70-74) to finish in a three-way tie for tenth place.  Jack Peters finished three strokes behind Jetton with a two-under par 214 (67-73-74) which placed him in a four-way tie for 17th place.  Finishing in an eight-way tie for 26th place was Chris Chomyn with a one-over par 217 (70-70-77).  Jarred Hernandez shot a 227 (78-74-75) to tie him for 65th place.  Eleven strokes behind Hernandez was Rey Rosas with his 233 which placed him in a three-way tie for 82nd place. Drew Pritchard shot a 233 to finish in a four-way tie for 73rd place.   
 
UP NEXT:  Stan State will return to the course when the  host the 49th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at the Turlock Golf & Country Club March 25-26.  After the awards ceremony on March 26, Stan State will recognize its three seniors in Chris Chomyn, Jarred Hernandez, and Nate Jetton.
