Warriors’ Outdoor Track and Field Teams to Begin This Saturday in Fresno
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will begin their season this Saturday, February 22 at the Fresno Pacific Sunbird Invite in Fresno, Calif. This will be the first of ten invitationals that the Warriors will be participating in this Spring. They will be hosts the 2024-25 CCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 1-3, at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.
SATURDAY FIELD EVENTS: The FPU Sunbird Invitational will begin with the following field events at 10:00 a.m. with the women's and men's long jump, women's javelin, women's hammer, and men's shot put. At 11:00 a.m., the men's javelin, men's hammer, and women's shot put will take place. The men's and women's triple jump, men's pole vault, and women's discus will begin at around 12:30 p.m. The final field event will be the men's discus at 1:45 p.m.
SATURDAY RUNNING EVENTS: The running events at the FPU Invitational will begin at noon with the men's and women's 4x100 relay teams. Then at 12:15 p.m., the men's and women's 1500-meter run will begin followed by the women's 100-meter hurdles at 12:40 pm. The men's 110-meter hurdles will start at around 12:50 p.m. followed by the men's and women's 400-meter dash at 1:05 p.m. At 1:25 p.m., the men's and women's 100-meter dash will take place followed by the men's and women's 800-meter run at 1:50 p.m. The men's and women's 400-meter hurdles will take place at 2:10 p.m. Around 2:25 p.m., the men's and women's 200-meter dash will take place followed by the men's and women's 3,000-meter run. The final event for the Warriors will be the women's and men's 4x400 relay teams at 3:15 p.m.
LAST YEAR'S ALL-CCAA RETURNERS: On the men's side, Stan State returns All-CCAA honorees Cole Bailey (javelin), Jacob Diaz (1500), and Lamont Lane (hammer). For the women, the Warriors return the following All-CCAA performers in Reyna Dismukes (long jump), Annie Wild (1500, 800), and Yahaira Zuniga (10,000). Lane was the Elite 13 recipient while Annie Wild was the Female Freshman of the Meet.
LAUDERDALE: Trent Lauderdale returns after sitting out last year. Lauderdale was an USTFCCCA Second Team All-American as he finished in tenth place in the 400-hurdles at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field
Championships.
UP NEXT: Stan State will host its annual Kim Duyst Invite Friday-Saturday, February 28-March 1. After the Kim Duyst, Stan State will travel to Chico, Calif., to compete in the Chico Invite, March 8.

The Warriors are also ranked No. 16 in the nation, with updated national rankings set to be released by the USTFCCCA tomorrow morning.
- Bascom Cards Top-20 Finish at WWU InvitationalStanislaus State men's golf closed out the Western Washington University Invitational on Tuesday at Bellingham Golf & Country Club, finishing 13th in the 14-team field. Owen Bascom led the Warriors with his two-over 218 to finish in a four-way tie for 17th place.
- Stan State Travels for Matches with Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East BayStan State's volleyball team is on the road this week to continue conference play. The Warriors will travel to Cal State Monterey Bay on October 3 for a match at 5:00 p.m., followed by a visit to Cal State East Bay on October 4 for a 5:00 p.m. match as well.
- Tanksley’s Net Presence Earns FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the WeekStanislaus State's Malia Tanksley has been honored as the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week following a dominant weekend at the net that helped the Warriors sweep Chico State and Cal Poly Humboldt. With the two wins, Stan State improved to 4-0 in CCAA play for the first time in program history.
