Five Warriors Earn Academic All-District Honors

TURLOCK, Calif. — Stanislaus State Baseball proudly celebrates the achievements of five standout student-athletes who have been named to the 2025 Academic All-District Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Robert Valdivia, Ryan Leonesio, Danny Murphy, Patrick Sweeney, and Noah Chelberg earned the prestigious honor, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined excellence on the field and in the classroom.

Earlier this month, the same five Warriors were also inducted into the inaugural class of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society at Stanislaus State, further exemplifying their academic commitment.

Valdivia was named to the 2025 All-CCAA Baseball Honorable Mention Team. This is the third time in his career that Valdivia has been named to the All-CCAA Team.  The senior shortstop hit .315 this season with 58 hits of which seven were doubles, two were triples, and two were home runs.  He drove in 28 runs and scored 29 runs.

Leonesio joined Valdivia on the 2025 All-CCAA Baseball Honorable Mention.  The senior infielder played in all 48 games for the Warriors this season.  He hit .315 with 47 hits of which six were doubles.  The Denair native drove in 26 runs and scored 24 runs.  He was a perfect eight-for-eight in stolen base attempts.

Murphy started in 37 of the 41 games he played in behind the plate for the Warriors in 2025.  He was ten-for-eleven in stolen base attempts this season.  The senior catcher drove in 19 runs and scored 25 runs.  The Atwater native had a .984 fielding percentage with 213 putouts, 29 assists, and just four errors this season.

Sweeney was 1-3 on the mound for the Warriors.  The Scotts Valley native appeared in 14 games and started in five.  He struck out 17 batters and walked just five in 37.1 innings pitched during his senior season.

Chelberg appeared in 20 games this season.  He had a 2-1 record with two saves during his last year as a Warrior.  The Oakdale native struck out 26 batters and walked just 12 in 30.2 innings of work in 2025.  He posted a 2.64 earned run average.

The CSC Academic All-District program honors student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and have made significant contributions in athletic competition. Each of Stan State's honorees has played a key role in the Warriors' success this season while excelling in rigorous academic programs.

This recognition is a testament to Stanislaus State's commitment to fostering excellence in both academics and athletics. The honored student-athletes now become eligible for CSC Academic All-America consideration, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
