Stan State’s Trio of Lauderdale, Real, and Wild Heading to Nationals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.---- As announced this afternoon by the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships Committee, Stan State's trio of Trent Lauderdale, Mila Real, and Annie Wild are heading to the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This year's championships are set for May 22-24, 2025, at the CSU-Pueblo ThunderBowl on the campus of Colorado State Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo. Wild will be running in the women's 1500-meter run while Real will be competing in the women's 400-hurdles. Lauderdale will be running in the men's 400-hurdles.
Wild will run in the preliminaries on Thursday, May 22 at 4:10 pm (PT) of the 1500-meter run. She is one of 22 runners competing in prelims. The Warrior sophomore has the seventh fastest time in the nation in NCAA Division II with a time of 4:19.67. The Ripon, Calif., ran that time at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., on April 16. She broke current Stan State assistant coach Courtney Heiner's eleven-year-old school record of 4:20.65.
Earlier this year, Wild became the first ever Stan State Indoor Track & Field Champion in the mile at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Wild ran a time of 4:40.62. At this year's 2025 CCAA Track & Field Championships, Wild captured the 1500-meter run and was the runner-up in the 800-meter run to earn All-CCAA honors in both events. This is the second time in the 2025 USTFCCCA First Team All-American's career that Wild has earned All-CCAA honors in both events. The finals of the 1500-meter are set for Saturday, May 24 at 3:35 p.m. (PT).
Lauderdale will be running in the preliminaries of the men's 400-meter hurdles on Thursday, May 22 at 6:55 p.m. (PT). Just like Wild, he will be one of 22 runners competing in the prelims on May 22. This is the second time in his career that Lauderdale has competed in the Nationals in the 400-hurdles. Two years ago in 2023, Lauderdale finished in tenth place at the nationals to earn USTFCCCA Second Team All-American honors. Lauderdale comes into this year's field with a personal best time of 51.06 (ninth fastest in the nation) that he ran in the finals of the 400-hurdles at the CCAA Track & Field Championships earlier this month to become the CCAA Champion.
The Warrior senior is second on the Warrior top ten list in the 400-meter hurdles. The two-time FloCollege/CCAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week also was a member of the All-CCAA men's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that finished second and third respectively at the CCAA's earlier this month. The men's 4x100 relay time ran a time of 40.65 that broke the 42-year school record. The finals of the 400-hurdles set for Saturday, May 24 at 6:35 p.m. (PT).
Real will be running in the preliminaries of the women's 400-meter hurdles on Thursday, May 22 at 4:10 p.m. (PT). Just like her teammates, Wild is one of 22 runners that will be competing in the 400-hurdles. The Warrior sophomore has the 13th fastest time in the nation of 59.70. Real ran that time at the APU Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 10 to break the Warrior school record in the 400-hurdles. This is the first time in her career at Stan State that Real has qualified for the Nationals.
At the CCAA Track & Field Championships earlier this month, Real earned All-CCAA honors in the 400-hurdles (second team), 100 hurdles (first team), and as a part of the 4x400 relay team (third team). The Waterford, Calif., native is currently sixth on the Warriors' top ten list in the 100-hurdles (14.84), ninth in the 400-meter dash (56.90), and seventh in the 4x100 relay (47.74). The finals for the women's 400-hurdles will take place Saturday, May 24 at 6:25 p.m. (PT).
ALL-AMERICAN: If the Warriors place in the top eight in their respective event's finals on Saturday, they will earn NCAA Division II All-American and USTFCCCA First Team All-American honors. If they place ninth through 12th, they will earn USTFCCCA Second Team All-American Honors. The USTFCCCAA All-American Teams will be officially released on May 27.
LAST WARRIOR ALL-AMERICANS: Najwa Chouati finished eighth in the 10,000-meter run to earn All-American honors at the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Emporia, Kansas. Annie Wild and Mila Real are looking to become the Warriors' 53rd and 54th All-Americans in program history.
Trent Lauderdale earned USTFCCAA Second Team All-American honors by placing tenth in the 400-hurdles at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo. He is looking to become Stan State's 46th All-American in program history.
