SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.--   Stan State started its regular season ending five-game road trip with a 6-2 victory over Cal State San Bernardino this afternoon in at CSUSB Softball Park in San Bernardino, Calif.  Victoria Alarcon picked up the seven-hit complete game victory with a season high eight strikeouts.

The game was scoreless until the Warrior half of the fourth. Sasha Martello had a lead-off single, went to second when Marissa Cerda reached on a Coyote error.  They advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Kaylee Heath.  Sarah Warden saw the second pitch she saw and hit a one-out two-run double to center field.  With two outs, Warden scored on an infield single by Faith Erb to increase the guests' lead to 3-0.

Stan State (17-26, 13-19 CCAA) added three insurance runs to take a 6-0 lead in its half of the sixth inning.  Heath had a lead-off single, but was out when Warden reached on a fielder's choice.  Warden advanced to second on a bunt single by Katie Thornsberry.  The bases were loaded when Erb singled with one out.  Warden scored on a single by Lauryn Serda.  Stan State made it 6-0 Warriors on a two-run single by Mikaela Ferreira which drove in Thornsberry and Erb. 

Cal State San Bernardino (25-18, 17-13 CCAA) cut the Warrior lead to 6-2 with a two-run home run by Isabella Venegas in the bottom of the sixth.  The Coyotes had runners on the corner in the bottom of the seventh with two outs, but Victoria Alarcon induced the final CSUSB batter to pop out to Katie Thornsberry at second base to preserve the 6-2 Warrior victory.

WARRIOR HITTERS:  Stan State pounded out eleven hits on the day with four Warriors with two each hits apiece in Lauryn Serda, Mikaela Ferreira, Sasha Martello, and Faith Erbi.  Ferreira and Warden each drove in two runs while Warden scored twice. 

STAN STATE PITCHER:  Victoria Alarcon (4-10) recorded the seven-hit complete victory. Alarcon struck out a career high eight batters walked two while giving up two runs. 

ANOTHER SPLIT: Stan State recorded its fourth split of a four-game CCAA series by taking the 6-2 make-up game at Cal State San Bernardino today.  The Warriors also split with SF State, Cal Poly Humboldt, and Cal State Monterey Bay.  They swept the series from Chico State.  Stan State went 1-3 against Cal State San Marcos and 0-4 against Sonoma State and Cal State Dominguez Hills. 

STILL ALIVE:  Stan State is still alive for the final spot in the six-team CCAA Softball Championship with one week left in the regular season.  The Warriors are 13-19 for a .406 winning percentage and are in eighth place.  SF State and Cal State East Bay are tied for fifth place each with a .500 record.  The Gators are 16-16 while Cal State East Bay is 15-15.  Cal Poly Humboldt is in seventh at 13-15 (.464). The CCAA Softball Championships will take place, May 1-4, at Cal State San Marcos.  The winner of the championships will receive the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA's.

EAST BAY NEXT:  The Warriors will end their regular season in Hayward, Calif., for a four-game series at Cal State East Bay, with a pair of doubleheaders, April 26-27.
