Lauderdale Improves Provisional Time, Wild Provisionally Qualifies for Nationals, and Wallace Ties School Record to Highlight Stan State’s Day in the Bay Area
BAY AREA--- Stan State's due of Trent Lauderdale and Annie Wild both recorded provisional times this afternoon at the Stanford Invitational. Lauderdale improved his qualifying time in the 400 hurdles with a second-place time of 51.16. He is now second as Biola's Joshua Widows ran a 51.15 this afternoon. Wild is now sixth in the nation in the 1500 with her tenth-place time of 4:21.36 also at the Stanford Invitational. Rionna Wallace ran a 24.49 to tie the school record in the 200-meter dash.
PROVISIONAL TIMES: With his second-place time of 51.16 in the 400-hurdles, Trent Lauderdale improved his time NCAA DII qualifying time, but is second to Joshua Widows (Biola) who ran a 51.15 this afternoon at Stanford. Lauderdale is third on the Warrior top ten list int eh 400-hurdles. Annie Wild ran a tenth-place time of 4:21.36 in the 1500 and is now sixth in the nation in NCAA Division II. She is second on the Warrior top ten list.
SCHOOL RECORD: Rionna Wallace ran a 24.49 to tie the school record in the 200-meter dash to finish in eighth place at the Stanford Invitational. She tied Jocelyn Venable for the school record who ran a 24.49 back in 2005.
MOVING UP IN THE RECORD BOOKS: Makenzie Kordic started the weekend for the Warriors with her sixth-place time of 36:22.91 in the 10,000-meter run at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco. Kordic moves into ninth place on the top ten list in the 10K at Stan State. Jackson Oliveira is now third in the 5,000-meter run with his 13th place time of 14:23.34 at the Track Classic. Moving up to fifth place on Stan State's Top Ten List is Dominic Robles (22nd, 14:27.6). Mason Oliveira is now sixth in the 5,000-meter run at Stan State with his 31st place time of 14:29.66.
Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva is now sixth in the women's 5,000-meter run at Stan State with her 34th place time of 17:04.82 at the Track Classic. Bela Moreno ran a 14th-place time of 11:14.10 in the 3,000-steeplechase to move into tenth place at Stan State. Moving into ninth in the women's 5,000-meter run is Crystal Hernandez with a 19th-place time of 4:32.60. Over at Stanford, Cole Bailey is now ninth in the men's javelin with his fifth place throw of 166-2 (50.65m).
MULTI'S: Over at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational Multi's in Berkeley, Calif., Alfred Nunes finished in tenth place with 5868 points. Nunes finished third amongst the student-athletes competing from NCAA Division II institutions. He started the decathlon on Thursday running a time of 11.72 in the 100-meter dash to finish 16th in the field. The senior multi-athlete then had a personal best mark of 19-8 ¼ (6.00 meters) in the long jump. Nunes had a throw of 29-10 ¼ (9.10m) in the shot put, and a jump of 5-7 ¾ (1.72m) in the high jump. He finished the first day with a personal best time of 53.83 in the 400-meter dash.
In Day Two of the Multi's, Nunes started today with a time of 16.61 which placed him tenth in the 110 hurdles. Nunes finished sixth in the discus (117-0, 35.68m). He tied for third in the pole vault (17-7 ¼, 44.52m) while he was ninth in the javelin (142-0, 43.28m). Nunes finished the decathlon with a time of 5:18.85 to place him 14th place.
