Men's Soccer Off to Best Start in Program History
The No. 2 Stanislaus State men's soccer team kept rolling through the opening weekend of CCAA play, going 1-0-1 to improve to 7-0-1 — the best start in program history. The Warriors battled to a 2-2 draw against Cal State East Bay on Friday behind goals from Sebastian Carbajal (assist Jose Ponce) and Samuel Villanueva (assist Gerardo Flores), then rallied past No. 21 Cal State Los Angeles, 2-1, on Sunday with goals from Gerardo Flores (assist Landon Leal Ruiz) and Alexis Cervantes (assist Ian Reis).

Volleyball Splits Road Trip: Six-Match Winning Streak Snapped
Stanislaus State volleyball improved to 7–6 overall and 5–1 in CCAA play after another competitive weekend on the road. The Warriors outlasted Cal State Monterey Bay in five sets before having their six-match winning streak snapped in a five-set battle at Cal State East Bay. It was a career weekend for Christallynn Tate, who totaled 31 kills and hit .329 across the two matches, while Isabella Saucedo recorded her fourth straight match with double-digit kills. The Warriors also saw multiple double-doubles over the weekend, with setters and attackers alike contributing on both sides of the ball, showcasing the team's growing depth and consistency early in conference play.

Maragos Leads Warriors to 1-1 Start in CCAA Play
Stanislaus State women's soccer opened California Collegiate Athletic Association action with a 1-1 weekend, bouncing back from a 2-1 setback to Cal State East Bay on Friday to defeat Cal State Los Angeles, 1-0, on Sunday at Warrior Stadium. Shauna Johnston scored her first goal of the season against East Bay, assisted by Olivia Maragos and Abby Winslow, while Maragos netted the game-winner versus Cal State LA off a pass from Haylee Sousa as goalkeeper Zara Mujica recorded her fourth shutout of the year. The Warriors are now 5-2-2 overall and 1-1-0 in CCAA play.

No. 13 Women's Cross Country Returns to the Course this Friday in San Francisco
The Stan State women's cross country team enters Friday's SF State Invitational ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II West Region and No. 13 nationally. The Warriors are coming off a strong showing at the UC Riverside Invitational, a 24-team meet featuring mostly Division I programs, where Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva and Annie Wild both finished in the top five to lead Stan State to a second-place overall finish and the top Division II team placing. Friday's race at Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows in San Francisco will serve as the team's final tune-up before the CCAA Championships on October 24 in Chico.

Men's Golf Returns to the Course at National Preview
At the WWU Invitational in Bellingham, the Stan State men's golf team wrapped up a challenging three-round trip with a 13th-place finish in the 14-team field, posting rounds of 297, 299, and 304 for a total of 900 (+36). Owen Bascom led the way for the Warriors, shooting 69, 74, and 75 to finish in a four-way tie for 17th at 218 (+2). Chase Bird and Ricky Sullivan each tied for 54th at 227 (+11), Carson Diaz tied for 68th at 230 (+14), and Riley Kirk tied for 75th at 233 (+17). The Warriors will next compete at the National Preview on Monday and Tuesday, October 6–7, at the Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club in Boulder City, Nev.—the same site that will host the 2025-26 NCAA Division II National Championships.

Men's Cross Country's Final Tune-Up this Friday in San Francisco
At the UC Riverside Invitational, the Stan State men's cross country team was led by standout performances from brothers Jackson and Mason Oliveira. Jackson paced the Warriors with a 10th-place finish in 23:48.3, while Mason followed close behind in 47th at 24:41.5 against a competitive 24-team field made up mainly of Division I institutions. The Warriors will have their final tune-up on Friday, October 10, at the SF State Invitational before heading to the CCAA Championships on October 24 in Chico.

This week's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week are men's soccer player Gerardo Flores and volleyball player Christallynn Tate

#9 Gerardo FloresGerardo Flores contributed a goal and an assist during the Warriors' 1-0-1 opening weekend in CCAA play, factoring into half of No. 2 Stan State's four goals at home. He opened the weekend with an assist in the 61st minute on Samuel Villanueva's game-tying goal in a 2-2 draw against Cal State East Bay. Flores then netted the equalizer in the Warriors' 2-1 win over No. 21 Cal State Los Angeles — their first victory over the Golden Eagles in 18 meetings (0-17-2). His fifth goal of the season came in the 15th minute off a feed from Landon Leal Ruiz.

Christallyn TateChristallynn Tate hit .329 and tallied 31 kills during Stan State's 1-1 weekend on the road in CCAA play. She also added five total blocks and one assist for the Warriors. Tate opened the weekend with 13 kills and a .323 hitting percentage in a five-set win at Cal State Monterey Bay. The senior outside hitter followed with a career-high 17 kills and a .333 hitting percentage, totaling 19 points in a five-set loss at Cal State East Bay. For the weekend, she accounted for 34.5 points.
